I dont track when i ovulate with opks or anything like that but today i bought one of those dollar store cheapies and to my surprise there was two lines one being darker then the other. but the app that i have that tells me when i ovulate said i did on the 9th so im confused maybe the app is wrong and i actually ovulate in the next coming days any feedback would be great
side note: i do have af type cramps and im nauseous boobs hurt a little and upset stomach i dont know why tho.

You cant trust your app if it is just going by period date. OPKs are good and if you are getting positives I would BD if I were you. The other alternative is that you are pregnant as opks can pick up hcg too. The only way you will know is either to wait till tomorrow and take another opk which should have started to fade by then if it is that you are ovulating, or take a hpt. My guess is that you are about to ovulate as you are probably only around CD 17. Good luck. Also try reading TCOYF i think it would be useful for you.

Unless you're giving the app solid data about your fertility signs (like basal body temperature, cervical mucous consistency, opk results) it can't know when you ovulate. The best an app can do without that data is make a guess based on what you've told it about your past cycles and information about how an average woman's cycle "should" work. For some women those guesses are pretty good, for some women they're waaaaay off.
So, I'd trust the opk more than the app right now.
Also, any chance you could already be pregnant? An opk will also read positive during pregnancy.

Unless you are also temping, the app is just an estimate of when you will O based on your cycle length. Each woman is different but I would guess that you are either in the beginning of your surge or end. The test line is darker than the control line but it can also get much darker. For reference, I know I am about to O based on my digital opk. Here are my positives from yesterday (top) and today (bottom.) In essence, I would BD but also test tomorrow, too and see how it differs.

@Snowdrop: i took a hpt when i took the ov test and it was negative so im pretty sure im not pregnant, not yet anyway. now im kinda stuck on when i ovulate given that my cycle has started to change from a 28 day cycle to a 25.

@simply_london: typically your luteal phase (between O and period) is pretty constant, so if your cycles are a few days shorter you're probably O'ing a few days earlier than before.

@simplyfelicity: i dont temp or chart or anything like that im just starting ttc so im reading up on what i need to know etc but some things are still a little fuzzy. my cycle went from a 28 day cycle to a 25 so i dont know if that has something to do with the positive ov test. i did have sex with my partner last night today will be a bust because hes out of town until tomorrow so cant do anything.

@simply_london: its a book called taking charge of your fertility. If you have taken a hpt then i would assume that you will be ovulating. Get yourself a fertility friend account, enter in the first day of your last period and when you get positive opks. Maybe start checking cm too, thats what worjed for me. Your cycle might not be the same every month but the time between o and your next cycle (your luteal phase) should be quite consistent. Over time you will get to know your body better

What app are you using? I echo previous posters that unless you are feeding the app more information than just your cycle length it has no personal data to go on and is likely incorrect.
I would trust the positive OPK. A positive OPK means you will ovulate within the next 12-36 hours. So this cycle isn't lost just yet.

I think it's normal to ovulate later than you think, 3 days doesn't seem that far off.
Also with the negative pregnancy test. I think it's time to get it on with your husband.

@locavore_mama: the app is called my calendar. And I think im out this month which sucks because I was hoping this would be our month. So I don't know maybe il do an appointment with my gyn and see if he can do some tests and see when I ov or if there are any problems.
