Bee and I have been feeling like this lately, so we've been selling off Charlie's toys. Lately he's been all about books and flash cards anyway...
Anyone else feel like their LO owns too many toys?

Yes! Soon I am going to go through her toys and take a bunch out and donate them. She barely plays with most of them so I will be making room for the toys that will come from her birthday and christmas coming up soon.

YES! but at the same time, the hubs keeps find new ones, but not getting rid of old ones. They only play with a few toys at once. I want to get rid of some but might wait a bit.
We don't have flash cards... so I think that might be on our list.

YES! DS only has a few things he likes to play with but with each of those we have literally tubs full of toys!
He has like 3 tubs full of train tracks... which have actually lasted him since he was like 3 so it's paid off quite well.
Legos & cars GALORE and now every superhero imaginable.
I REALLY wanna get rid of some things but he seems to play with the all still. Maybe if I can get people to only buy toys in these categories it wouldn't be so bad.. but some certain grandma likes to buy totally random things that DS rarely plays with....
I'm definitely thinking that it's time to do a purge though.

Not yet, my LO has never been that into toys so luckily we have been able to keep things under control!! Are there any flash cards you recommend @mrbee? I have bought a few different ones but I am not crazy about any of them.

Nope! I feel bad that my LO doesn't have enough toys.. :T I don't think it bothers her though. she loves playing with water bottles, wooden spoons and the randomest things.

OMG! ME!!!!! And I was just talking to my GF about this too, as she is cleaning out her DS's toy box! I try to go through DS's toy box every few months and clean out the toys he doesn't play with anymore, but they still seem to collect! With Christmas coming, I did do a major clean out, and had DS help me. I think it was actually good for him because we talked about how others don't have toys and could use them and that in order to get new toys, he had to get rid of old ones. He wanted to get rid of everything after that!
A great idea I have heard of is to get like 3 bins, and seperate your child's toys into them. Let them keep one of the bins out, and then every 4 months, switch the bins, giving them one of the bins that has been put away, and putting away the bin that was out. That way, it cuts back on how many toys they have out at a time, and it makes them feel like they get a whole new set of toys every 4 months!

Nope, and the reason is that Europeans don't have as much available as Americans. The toy stores are much smaller and the items are usually twice as expensive. A Little People by Fisher Price airplane, for example, costs about $40 USD.
We also buy a lot less because we plan on relocating soon and I don't want to have too much to move if we can't sell it.
