Why is this so hard? Especially in Utah where people have babies one right after another. To back it up we started our foster process in March, magically got pregnant in June and still want to foster while pregnant. Or even straight up adopt. But I guess that isn't an option so back to the fostering we will try. Just venting

I don't know, but sorry you are having a hard time with it! I know that agencies are only trying to do what is best for kids, but it seems like some of the rules are a little over-the-top. Especially when there are so many kids in need of good homes. I wish you luck!

@Mae: Really I do get it. I just figure if the wait is a year to a year and a half or longer to get a child, then why should we not start now? Maybe I need to change my thinking lol!

Most agencies will even put an adoption on hold if you become pregnant before match. I think that there is some thought that it's hard enough to adjust to one situation, let alone two totally different dynamics. I know that I really appreciated the individual time I had with my babies. Sometimes, that time is shorter than others, but it's still nice.

Our agency put us on hold the minute we told them we were pregnant and told us to take a year to "know" our baby and then pick up the process again.

We found out we were pregnant the week after we received our official approval from the agency. We had to put the adoption on hold and can contact them once LO is 6 months to decide if we want to continue.

Our agency had a hold policy. If you became pregnant while waiting they would put the adoption on hold. I however got pregnant right after placement and it had no affect on our adoption/finalization. I think it's just to give you a chance to adjust and bond.
