We have two of the 4 compartment ones and they work great for my preschooler. I use silicone cupcake liners if I need to keep things separated in the larger compartment.

I don't use a bento box anymore but I would personally go for the 4 compartment one and improvise if you need to.. I don't like having to cut up or pack too many different things every single day.
Eta, and we had the 6 before. Also, did anyone find that theirs got stuck a lot? It's not that easy to open and dd hates asking for help at lunchtime, so that was part of why we nixed it.

We have the 6 compartment one. We aren't currently using it because of his daycare set-up. But when we did, it was nice to be able to offer more options because we were never sure what he was actually going to eat.

We use the 4 compartment, and it works well for my LO. I use silicone cups in the big compartment to add more variety. The two side compartments on the right hold veggies. The middle is for his gummy vitamins. I use a silicone cup for fruit and another for grain. Then the rest of the space is for his protein.

@QBbride: Yes the seal is great on them! But the downside is my lo doesn't like help opening her lunch and it sometimes is hard for even me to get open. (Maybe it's just hers.) But if your lo is normal (lol) and ok with teacher's help, they're really good seals!

We have the 4 compartment box and love it! Used it a lot along with our Omiebox when I am packing warm/hot foods. I love that it doesn't leak and we also use silicone liners in the bigger section if I want to put more variety.

@QBbride: It was a Kickstarter funded product that's a lunchbox which holds both hot and cold food!!! There are two long sections for room temp or cold, and a square section that has a removable thermos. I usually like to use this Hf I send soups or pastas, then have veggies or other things in the side compartments. If you remove the thermos, the square is perfect for a sandwich too. I love my Omie and Yumbox! Both great boxes.

@QBbride: I haven't reached for it as much lately but I still do love it for hot foods! I like it for noodle soups and hot rice/casserole dishes. I've been reaching for my Yumbox more out of habit since that's always on top. I think with the turn in cold weather my daughter would appreciate hot foods so I will need to start using it again!
