@LovelyPlum: Weekly!? EEK! Im on to bi-weekly but I love seeing my OB so I would love to see her once a week

My appointment went well. She said baby's heartbeat it good and I've only gained 23 lbs so far, which is like 1/3 of what I had gained already with DD lol. I'm also measuring a "week or two" big but I tend to take it with a grain of salt. She said the same thing about DD but it turns out I just had a TON of fluid. I'm also counting on this baby being late as well, though I really hope not. Next appointment is 2/19.

@luckypenny: yay! So glad all is well. How did E do at the appointment? And I agree, going frequently is a really good thing for me. I love everyone at the office and will be sad when I don't have an excuse to see them again so frequently!

Also, I'm super jealous of your 23 pounds. I hit 40 this week...womp womp. Oh well.

@LovelyPlum: girl, it's only because I'm chasing around a toddler and am so conscious of not gaining as much as I did with E. I was up 60 lbs this time with her and loosing the weight after was hard so it kind of scared me this time. You'll be fine and we didnt end up bringing E. she was still napping at grandmas so we let her sleep. She will come next time.

@luckypenny: Glad your appointment went well! I have gained about the same amount of weight as you and too are measuring a week ahead. Both doctors think this baby is coming early, but I don't know. He's pretty stubborn already...I guess it's his choice!

  6. luckypenny

    grapefruit / 4582 posts

@megz06: yeah they told me the same thing wit E and I was 11 days late lol they also said she was probably 9 lbs...she was 7lbs13oz.

@luckypenny: that is teenie tiny for being 11 days late!

i'm curious to know if they'll say i'm measuring behind, on track, ahead, etc. i have a 31 week appointment tomorrow so we shall see! either way, i'll take it with a grain a salt. i feel like almost every OB's guesstimate was off in the end!

@luckypenny: thanks! the baby's doing well. moving a lot and growth is in the 33rd percentile. i'm going to the doctor every week now... that's a lot of doctor's appointments but hopefully it'll make the time pass by quickly!

I had a regular ob appointment today--everything looks good! I met with one of the other doctors in the practice and she was really nice. she actually asked me questions about my phd (it must be on my chart that I'm a grad student?) and chatted about my field, which was really nice but unexpected. I guess it helps establish a little bit of a relationship if she's the one on call when I give labor? Also I have a gross cold right now and she told me what otc meds I can take, so that was great! I feel better already with some robutussin in me!

I had an ultrasound today & doc was much more positive about little man's chin. The concern is if his chin is small or jaw set back farther than normal it could cause breathing or feeding problems. I was just happy to see him.

My next OB appt is 2/24 and another ultrasound on 3/17.

@nana87: @jhd: Glad both of your appointments went well!

Had a routine appointment today. Measuring a week ahead, and it seems as if my little guy did in fact move lower. She isn't completely sure if he turned, although she's confident, so she said in two weeks she would check again, and if she was unsure, we would do a quick ultrasound to check he isn't breech. I'd love to see him

Got my tdap shot, which was fine and was recommended to a physical therapist for the pain I have been experiencing while sleeping. Pain and heat will radiate down my butt and thigh at night if I sleep on my side too long. The PT gave me some basic exercises to loosen that muscle up until I can see him Monday. I was given the go-ahead to use Biofreeze on that area too to help calm the pain.

Next appointment is 2/25 (last appt with my family doctor and then it is on to my delivery doctor. Wow!)

Had my 33 week appointment Wednesday. Baby is doing good. I gained 6 pounds in 2 weeks .... Ugh! I was doing so good and totally on track. Damn you Girl Scout cookies! I also blame me being sick and not being able to go to the gym. Next appointment is march 5 and we get an ultrasound I can't wait to see the little baby one more time before we meet.

@luckypenny: Great appointment! And I hear ya on the Girl Scout cookies. My mom had to buy some becuase the poor girl was sitting outside of Walmart freezing her butt off, so she bought $20 worth of cookies, lol. I got a box of Thanks-a lots and yeah...the box is being destroyed.

@luckypenny: great news! I'm excited that you are going to see the little one again! Did E get to hear the heartbeat? There were two little girls in the room next to me with their mom, and I could hear them through the wall-they were so excited about hearing/seeing the baby. Made me think of you

@megz06: we haven't had Girl Scout cookies here yet, but I know that when they come, things will be bad...

I had my 33 week appointment yesterday, and baby is looking good. I'm not sure if he/she is still breech, but we think there's a chance baby has flipped, based on where I can feel kicks. I'm hoping to have a better idea when I go in next time. I also got my Tdap shot, so that's good. Now we just need to get DH his.

I had a regular OB appointment today & everything looks good! I go back for another OB appointment + ultrasound on March 17. She told me to get my hospital bag packed between now and then. I can't hardly believe it's time for that!!

So I just got back from my appointment. It's a good thing we weren't planning on heading back to Boston today and that I finished up my work there, because it turns out I need to go to the hospital for a biophysical profile on Thursday since the doctor thought the amniotic fluid levels looked a little low. She didn't seem worried, but of course I feel a ton of mom-guilt already--have I been drinking enough water? too much caffeine? should I have paid more attention to her movements decreasing (I read that it was normal for it to slow down a little, and I've been so busy I barely took the time to count lately...)? etc etc.

The movement thing could be totally unrelated: baby girl has also flipped breech...Hoping she flips again, the doctor said she has until 35 weeks before she starts trying inversion techniques...

  26. jhd

    coconut / 8079 posts

@nana87: oh no! Try not to stress!! I'm glad you are home and near your doctor. I'm sure everything will be just fine

  27. nana87

    cantaloupe / 6171 posts

so I had my hospital appointment today for the biophysical profile and NST. the good news is that baby has flipped again and is no longer breech, and baby was moving great during the NST, but the fluid levels were really low I'm supposed to stay off my feet and stay super hydrated this weekend, and go back on Monday for another bpp/nst.

  28. jhd

    coconut / 8079 posts

@nana87: big hugs to you! i hope that you can get good rest and try to find lots of yummy things to drink. i've been trying to add stuff to my water in an effort to drink a little more. but i'm so glad to hear that baby flipped and was moving well!

  29. LovelyPlum

    eggplant / 11408 posts

@nana87: oh sweetie, I'm sorry. First, to the good news: yay for breech babies flipping! I found out mine flipped back yesterday too, and it's a weight off of my shoulders.

Secondly, THIS IS NOT YOUR FAULT. Period. We're doing the best we can! I'm glad that you caught it when you did. Take it easy this weekend, and drink lots and lots. I hope that Monday only brings good news

  30. megz06

    apricot / 335 posts

@nana87: Stay off your feet and drink as much as you can! Add stuff if you are able. I was horrible with water for a while, and the doc told me I HAD to drink more, so I broke out the 22oz bottle and downloaded and app so I try my hardest to at least get 66oz of water a day. If I can make the 99 it says for my weight, I celebrate, lol.

I never did update on my regular OB appt on Wednesday. Baby flipped, which is why I am having pelvic pressure/cramping and a possible increase in discharge. She wasn't too worried. I got a prescription for my sinuses (I have been battling a plugged ear due to improper sinus drainage) but it was like 92 bucks for the nasal spray, so I got an OTC brand instead that the doctor approved.

This was the last time I see my doctor. My records have been transferred to my delivery doctor who I will be seeing March 10. Very excited!

@jhd: @LovelyPlum: @megz06: thanks ladies! I'm definitely planning on taking it very, very easy and drinking oh so much water this weekend. LovelyPlum you hit the nail on the head though, I'm totally blaming myself for this. I've been so busy lately and I've mostly felt pretty good so I thought I was doing fine, but now I definitely think I've been overdoing it. When I was on my research trip, I wasn't able to drink water throughout the day and I thought I was getting enough at home before and after, and by taking water fountain breaks frequently, but I just def don't think it was enough. My doctor called to follow up though when she got the results from the hospital, and she was pretty reassuring: the baby flipping, her good NST results, and also her size (she's already 4lbs 13 oz!) are all really good signs. It seems like there just will be lots of extra monitoring but as long as baby seems good, all is good...

also, @LovelyPlum: yay for flipping!! and @megz06: glad you got an rx, hopefully your sinuses will feel so much better soon!

I had my repeat bpp/nst today, and it's really good news!! not only was baby girl moving around a lot (including hiccuping and sucking her thumb during the u/s!), but my fluid levels rose by quite a bit, and are back into the normal range!! I'm still supposed to hydrate a lot and take it easy, but I don't have to stay couch-bound like I did all weekend, I can resume more normal activity levels. I probably will mostly stick to the couch anyway since I'm working from home now. In any case, it is SUCH a huge relief! they want to recheck my levels again next week, so my next appointments are 3/10 at the hospital again, 3/14 at my ob (where I meet one of the other partners), and then 3/20 with my ob to have the "big talk" about birth plans. soooo many appointments!

@nana87: SUCH good news! Good job hydrating, Mama! Now, take it easy!! *wags finger*

@luckypenny: thanks for asking-yesterday was so insane that I didn't get a chance to update. My appointment-well, appointments-went OK, I guess. I've had a lot of swelling over the last few days, and I was pretty nervous that they were going to find protein in my urine/my BP was going to be too high. The good news is no protein, and my BP was in the normal range (128/80). That's a little high for me, though, because I normally run low. (For comparison, it was 107/68 two weeks ago). For now, they just want me to take it easy, drink a lot, and come in again on Monday to make sure things are going OK.

I also had another PT appointment, where I found out that when I fell last week, I popped my left hip out of alignment as well. So, that means that I have two hips dislocated from where they should be, and I'm making one worse when I do my exercises to put the other back in. She got them both back in, but it took some doing. I felt better afterwards, but I have to admit-this is less fun than it sounds

The craziest news of the day, though? I got the official word that if I go into labor, they're not stopping it. So, baby really could come at any time. AAAAHHHHHH!!
