I think so! We are starting music lessons in two weeks (LO is 18 months) and if anything, it's an opportunity for them (and you!) to be around other kids and parents. Totally worth it! I'm a SAHM so I look for any opportunity to get out and do something that someone else is planning!

$210 for 11 weeks seems pricey though. We are paying $54 for 6 weeks (45 min classes) for a 8 child class.

Our town offers them for about $10 a session. We havent been yet but i am excited about it! You only have to sign up for one month at a time. Might be worth looking into your parks and rec department.

We did Music Together for a year with LO between the ages of ~27 mos to 38 mos. It took her a little while to warm up and participate in the classes but she did really well and I feel like she got a lot out of it. We took a break this summer and will take a break in the fall with the baby coming, but we will reconsider this winter (although I think she wants to try ballet now). Our classes were around $230-250 for about 10 weeks in the metro DC area.

My LO did Music for Aardvarks and looooooooved it. It was about $24 a class but I found that there was a huge difference in quality between that and the $5 drop-ins around town (we still did those occasionally too but just a very different scene). He adores the songs and we sing them all the time.

@Boheme: Ah you should totally do it! When LO started talking, the first thing he would do every morning was point to the ipod and say "aardvark." It was especially good as an indoor activity during the winter. I've been so impressed with the teachers - they have really good energy and make a point to know every kid's name.

@SeptMomma12: We like the music too! Taxi and Run Around Kid are big hits in our house right now.

We did one last fall and LO was only 10 months when it started. she liked it a lot. Between touching the instruments and interacting with the other kids, she really enjoyed it.
