Hellobee Boards

Um that was the gateway drug into a full-blown Pokémon obsession for my 5-year-old. He is making his way through every episode on Netflix and has a book about all 700 of them that he carries around like a Bible. He just got his first cards and has started trading them with kids at school. He is almost always pretending to be a Pokémon of some sort and badgers me constantly about "what such-and-such evolves into." It's more bananas than Star Wars ever was.

@Mrs. Yoyo: That reminds me! LO wants one of those Pokedictionaries for Christmas. Yep, we gotta poke-person in our house. Actually, we all are/were. We only play sporadically--like ten minutes a week now but we were full on into it as a family activity. LO just drew a picture of Pikachu triumphing over Pinsir today. It had her and her bff in it. That's what started it. Her BFF has a brother who loves the cards and they all caught the bug from him.

@delight: We actually rarely play the game anymore because unless you're someplace new after awhile it's hard to catch anything you don't already have. Can't say I'm sad -- I was getting tired of being badgered to play all the time.
