I got my picture taken yesterday and she told me no teeth, its not allowed - the picture looks horrible!
I went home and saw that I was smiling and showing teeth in my last passport photo and upon searching you are allowed to show teeth.
What does your smile look like?

My husband and I just got our passports renewed. We each went to different places by our offices for the pictures. I smiled with my teeth slightly showing in my picture, but the person my husband went to said no teeth showing allowed- so he did not. We both got our passports just fine in the end, but I do believe the rule is you are supposed to look very natural, not with a big smile.

the travel.state.gov says the 1st pic is fine but the 2nd is not (exaggerated smile)

No and I'm wearing a leather bomber jacket and a little too much makeup so I look like I'm up to no good.

Same thing happened to me. My previous passport photo is one where I'm smiling. The current one I'm not because I was told I absolutely couldn't. It looks a lot less like me just because I had to be so stoic!

I smiled (2014) but wish I didn't. I got the picture taken at CVS when I had metal braces. No one told me I couldn't smile. The braces came off 6 months later and now the picture looks nothing like me. I would much rather have my RBF as my pic. lol
