Has anyone thought about documenting for your kids the Covid 2020 adventure? I have been trying to keep up with photos so we can document and remember that we did have a lot of fun and good memories. Would you make a book just for 2020 or specifically like March 2020 to March 2021?

This is a great idea. I think I would wait to see what happens in the next month or so before making it - but I don't want to forget the things that we did. Even though since March P has said this is a time in her life that she never wants to remember, I think for posterity it would be cool for her to show her kids/grandkids someday!

@bpcmarj: Yes! I hope to be able to show the kids that even in the "worst" of times, we were able to bond, create memories, etc. I may just focus on even just one special thing per month.

We had a baby the first week of quarantine...so I've been documenting all of his firsts. I think it made the adjustments for the big kids much easier actually. At some point I will make a photobook or something for the big kids.

I plan on just doing our regular annual book, I always add some writing in with the pictures anyway, so will just continue that. I do think it will be really interesting to look back on when she is older.

I'm going to do our regular book, but we will have so many more pictures for March- June than normal. We did all sorts of special at home things with the kids and have pictures of all of it. They hate the being home part but miss the family time now that we are out more again.

I keep a journal. I wrote in it a lot as covid was every changing and uncertain. Now that we know more, I don't write as much. I am glad I kept it, though!

@catgirl: what do you write usually? I always feel really corny when I write in our books. I’m rushing to get my 2019 one done before 2020 ends.

@LadyDi: mostly simple things - info about any trips, favorite places we like to go each season, info on DD's favorite toys/activities/shows, any new things she started/learned/mastered, the names of her friends, and events we went to. I feel a little corny but I want to remember the little details of life. I don't make it mushy or flowery - keep it to facts mostly. Typically one paragraph for each month, unless major events happened. Then there might be a couple of smaller paragraphs for each.

We do a yearly book but this year will definitely look different! Looking back, I hope we remember the time together and forget the hard parts.

I do probably quarterly chatbooks, so those have a few covid comments in them, especially back in March / April. I also keep a daily journal type thing (just gives 6 or 7 lines per day), so I was tracking daily covid cases for awhile in the beginning for our state/area, I haven't been really good about it lately.
I set up email accounts for my 2 littles, and had sent an email to them when this first started, so I'll have to send another 'update' (and go back and read what I had sent!)
