I agree with your DH, the Disney one doesn't really look Asian.

@Weagle: Yeah good point. My long hair dolls when I was a toddler looked like crazy witches in a week.

I think American Girl has an Asian Bitty Baby.

The last one!!! I agree with you on the first doll, and the 2nd doll (Disney) just sucks. It doesn't seem like it's that *doll* that every little girl calls her baby. The doll looks 16! And not Asian looking.

I love the quality of Corolle, but I'm not fond of the look of their Asian baby doll. I do think the 12" doll is perfect for little hands, even though I've just bought DD a 14" doll for Xmas. I ended up getting her the Happiness baby doll, I think it's cute and since it doesn't have hair anyway, I figured it'll do.

Aww, I just read that's it's not for children. But the size above would be so perfect to reuse old newborn clothes on!

Corelle doll is just not cute and her clothes are too light for my taste.
Disney doll looks unrealistic ala Barbie.
Little Mommy doll is all around a great choice. Best outfit.

I think 1 is the best beginner doll. The 2nd does not look Asian at all. The 3rd's hair is just going to be a hot mess. I would hold off till she is a little older for that one.

R has the corelle one and loves it.

I'd pick the Corelle one. The last one is SOO cute, but the hair would be a mess soon. (My LO has the Ariel and Tiana toddler dolls and Ariel is a mess because her hair was loose. Thankfully Tiana's came in pigtails!)

bitty baby makes really nice dolls and they have asian ones. they last FOREVER (i know one that's 15 and has been handed down through 4 kiddos and it's still goin strong!). they're pricey, but they last and can be repaired if anything were to happen to them and there are lots of fun accessories you can get. she looks more biracial, caucasian/asian, though.

the first doll you have, it's a nice size and seems to be well liked, but her hair is HORRIBLE after a very short while and there's no fixing it (i may have started spraying detangler in it when it started to get bad.... it couldn't be saved )

@sunny: This is exactly what happened to me the first time I was doll hunting! Now I've decided to just ignore it all and just stick to the baby dolls without hair. Even if the eyes are technically gray/blue, it's so hard to tell if it's a newborn. I gave up on ethnic dolls and just got what I thought was cute!

I like the Corelle one but I like bitty baby even more!
