So my LO is 7mo and is reallllly into rolling lately. She can get going with some force and once or twice a day she rolls into something and smacks some part of her body (generally her head). She either rolls onto a hard plastic toy, or she rolls into the coffee table leg, or the book case, or the wall... etc. About half the time she cries. Sometimes she has a red mark for a few minutes (never blood/bruises).

So far I've mostly been letting her go because I know she isn't really hurting herself and I feel like she'll never learn to stop rolling into things if I never let her roll into things. But then I feel bad because it upsets her and I wonder if she's too young for that sort of cause/effect learning and I should be intervening more.

So... how much intervening did you do when your LO was rolling? And I presume crawling/walking/etc. Did you prevent all non-serious bumps and bruises you could, or just let LO go and hope they figure it out sooner rather than later?
