My son's birthday was yesterday and of course Christmas is almost here. Between his party a couple weeks ago, his actual birthday yesterday and Christmas coming, he has become a raging psycho present monster! Yesterday in the car he started crying because he wanted "more! Presents!" And today when I got back from Christmas shopping he pitched a fit when I wouldn't give him his presents. I have tried everything from talking about Jesus to people who have no presents to threatening to give away his presents and the only thing that halfway worked was talking about how awesome it is to GIVE gifts instead of just getting them.

Long story short, are we the only ones? We definitely don't go crazy with gifts -- we don't even do Santa. Is there an episode of Daniel Tiger or some other didactic show that will help explain this better than I?
