I’ve seen this idea before and think it’s smart!

But, the only thing I’m thinking is usually when this kind of tragedy happens, it seems like it’s because there was something out of the ordinary- like dad was supposed to drop off at daycare instead of mom, that kind of thing. So I feel like the unusual circumstance would make it less likely that the parent would also follow the bag in the back idea, if that makes sense? Still- it’s a good idea!

I can’t see myself forgetting my kids now since they are always with me so it’s very unusual when they aren’t, but k admit I have forgotten to buckle my 4 year old into her car seat a couple of times- always when I did something else while they were getting into the car (pick up a package, put on a bandaid) and I go into autopilot. Luckily she always yells that i forgot, but last time I had pulled out of my parking spot already! So I see how this kind of thing happens.

Yes we do this, plus we text each other when we have dropped our son off. I just pile all our stuff in there when I buckle him in the seat. We alternate pick ups and drop offs so it makes me feel safer to do stuff in the back and the text. I do wish cars had some kind of alarm or system as this could happen to anyone unfortunately.
