We are going on vacation in 4 weeks (YAY!), which means 8 hours in the air over two flights with a 19 month old (HOLY SH*T BOOOOOOO). We are starting to strategize. We have stickers, snacks, toys, books, a carrier, early morning flights, her own seat, blah blah. The question is: should we plan to take her convertible car seat on the plane and strap her in it, or gate check it and have more space available in her seat for her to play?

Since she's under 2, technically we are allowed to hold her on our laps during take off and landing.

Pros to seat: safer, I know she'll nap in there because she does it in the car all the time.

Cons to seat: She hates being strapped in and I imagine we'll be fighting with her on our laps the whole time if the seat is there. No seat = space for her to sit like a "big girl", play, maybe even nap on her belly?

WWYD?
