We have a four year old cat and just got a kitten. Our older cat is not happy with us that we brought a cat home. We tried introducing them slowly, and I have tried to keep the kitten more contained so the older cat can have space but that's been difficult. I wouldn't normally worry but my older cat hasn't had anything to eat or drink (if so minimal) and has for sure not used the bathroom in about 24 hours. I'm not sure if this was the right thing to do but I moved my older cats litter box by her in our bedroom where she is hiding. She has yet to go, but not sure what else I should be doing. I know she is just ticked off but when should I worry? Any tips?

If they are not already, they need to be completely separated behind closed doors, each with their own food and water. Cats can go into like a hibernation when they are scared or upset and they won't eat/use the litterbox for a long time. I can give tips on introducing too but definitely make sure they have no access to one another.
I've been through crazy times of introducing and reintroducing my cats and i feel like i know every trick in the book.

I don't know about introducing a new cat, but when my cat was having medical problems and we couldn't get him to eat the vet told us to do anything we had to to get calories in him. New food, wet food, lunch meat, strips of raw steak, liverwurst (he really liked it... weirdo). I'd try offering some favorite "people food" for a day or two just to make sure your cat keeps its strength up while she gets used to the idea of a new cat.
