Ugh I'm SO confused... FF just gave me crosshairs saying I Oed three days ago, but I got a positive OPK the day after that, and a nearly positive (second line, but it was lighter) yesterday (both not with FMU).
I was sure I Oed yesterday. I'm not complaining about being 2 days ahead of where I thought I was, but this is the first time I've doubted FF. Blerg.

@Rachel: weird! What happens if you disregard that high temp before O? That look like the issue!
I had another elevated temp this morning but my throat is still sore so I am unsure what's going on. I did have great cm yesterday and the day before so here's hoping

@sslm: fingers crossed for you!!
@Rachel: Weird! I never got a positive OPK more then two days in a row, so I am not sure what is up

@sslm: I declare crosshairs tommorow!!
@Rachel: Yeah, I think you O'd yesterday. FF might move your crosshairs later when it sees more. It's funny, it refused to give me any crosshairs after a - OPK and yet I had a definite temp shift and yet for you, you have a minor temp shift before a + OPk and it jumps the gun. I guess computers aren't going to rule the world just yet.

@sslm: I tried discarding that high temp on Saturday but it didn't change anything. I also tried changing the method to OPK and it moved my O date up a day. I think @Grace is right and it might change in the coming days - my post O temps are usually over 98 so it should still go up. And hooray for more high temps and good CM! All good signs!

@Rachel: more waiting for both of us I guess!!
If I set the detection mode to research it gives me crosshairs on Sunday. What is up with that mode?? I don't trust it.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
I was playing with FF and changing my temps for the next 2-3 days to see if I'd get crosshairs and got nothing. hmmmmm. Plus I have another positive OPK today. WTH?
@sslm: I know nothing about the research method but I understand you not trusting it. I don't think I would either!

@alison206: I think they suggest not using FMU for OPKs because the LH concentration will be higher then, and some people have some level of LH in their system throughout their whole cycle - maybe try testing this afternoon. I usually test when I get home from work, after not peeing for an hour or more before that.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@rachel: UGH! The cheap target brand ones said use FMU so I thought I was supposed to. With those I NEVER got a positive which would make sense if I'm just now ovulating since I ran out of those and got FR ones. However, when I first started using the FR ones I didn't get any test line, only the control line so I think I'm ok.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@alison206: I always read that LH surges in the morning but doesn't get into your urine until noon. They say the best time ot test is 2pm but window is around 12pm-8pm. Maybe that's why you had trouble? Some people have no trouble getting a positive with FMU but maybe switch to afternoon and see if you get better results!

@alison206: I found this online - it's the instruction sheet for Wondfo OPK strips (the cheapy Amazon ones). There's nothing on there about FMU, but it's got some good info at least. http://www.ovulationtestsisrael.com/ovulation-test-instructions.pdf

@jojogirl @Rachel: I don't feel like I'm having problems now that I'm using the FR tests. I looked at the directions and they say you can use FMU but ill keep that in mind for next month.

Hi, did any of you guys start charting after coming off BCP? No AF yet. Should I even bother or will it be good practice?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: I started charting immediately coming off BCP. I started charting during that first AF off BCP (the one that you are normally taking placebo pills during).
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Adira: Ok, I have recorded my temps for the last three days and wasn't sure if I should continue until I get AF. I was on the progesterone pill that didn't have placebos.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: Oh, I see. It doesn't hurt to chart now because you'll get a feel for what your normal temps look like, but probably until you get AF, your chart won't tell you much.

@alison206: Thanks for the reply =) I will try with FMU too next cycle. I did some with FMU but not all.
@Rachel: I think FF may be right, based on your CM. Your lower temp may be a fallback rise? We shall see what the next few days bring!
@sslm: Yayyy I hope you O'ed!!!!!!!!!!!
@autumnlove: I suppose it could be good practice to wake up and temp every day, worth a shot! You didn't have any withdrawl bleed yet?

Btw, looking at my chart makes me laugh. We have never had sex this much in one month!

@alison206: Depends on your coverline, but usually three. Sometimes I've seen it give me crosshairs as late as 9 days later.

@alison206: Whats the link to your chart?? It cracks me up to see BD patterns too. I just look at some charts on the gallery and think "OW!" Lol.
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@Dharmainitiative: 9 days, holy cow! I don't want to stop BDing until I get crosshairs but I am sooooo tried!

@Dharmainitiative: Here it is! I know sometimes I look and think, "Um really? Come on people!"
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@alison206: HOly crap your OPKs were positive for a long time!! And amazing BDing if we start doing better this time around, I'll include that in my public chart. Hahah.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@dharmainitiative: I had a week of bleeding the week before I stopped the mini-pill...maybe that was my period? No bleeding since stopping the pill. I did have thick eggy discharge ten days after stopping...not sure if it was just my hormones going nuts?
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@JoJogirl: I know, right!? I had my first +OPK on Sunday where the lines were the same color, second on Monday where the test line was way darker than the control line, yesterday the test line was a tad darker, and then today they are the same color again.
I've never had results from any other urine besides FMU so I think I'll stick with that. I personally think I O'd on Monday.
apricot / 368 posts
@alison206: Man! That is a lot of BD. LOL. This one always gets me... This isn't me.
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ChartGallery/149376.html
Yeah, my charts lately have been wonky so FF doesn't usually see my BD for a while. If you put in high temps the next few days, does it give you CHs?
@autumnlove: A lot of women complain that their CM is crazy the first month off of BC. Ideally, you should have a withdrawl bleed in a few days. If not, then I would call your last bleed your LMP, though your O will be way off of the "normal," (normal being the 14 days after your period, which like never happens) so ignore that data for calculating you follicular phase length and stuff, you know?
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@dharmainitiative: If i put in climbing temps through Sat I get crosshairs on today which makes NO sense!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@dharmainitiative: thank you! I am new to this stuff and I feel so unknowledgable!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
Ok I took out all +OPKs and raised my temps up until Sunday. Why would I have O'd on today (Wednesday) according to FF?
apricot / 368 posts
@alison206: Okay, that's officially weird. I will say, if it's any consollation, that sometimes I put in climbing temps and it puts an O date, but when I put in the real temps it detects O at a different date. It's like FF likes to mess with us! LOL
@autumnlove: Well, I hope you don't have to spend much time learning it and you get your BFP soon!!!! =)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@alison206: Hmm... my guess is because you have so many high temps at the beginning of your cycle, and it isn't until tomorrow that the temps seem higher than them (and continues to be higher the next few days). But that's just a guess, I'm not really sure what FF is doing.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@alison206: my guess is that it's the point where the temp has risen enough to be reliable. If yesterday's temp was higher, I bet it would have made yesterday O day. FF has a hard time figuring out O day with "slow rises", FYI.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@alison206: Soo weird... I agree with @Adira that it might be because of the high temps early in your cycle.
So I tried putting in some higher temps for the next few days and FF changed my O date from Sunday to yesterday, which lines up with my OPKs, too, so I'm pretty sure I'm only 1dpo instead of 3... we shall see.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@alison206: I agree with the others. Since your temp was high throughout your cycle, FF is probably having trouble analyzing!!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Rachel: happy tww to you!! We could be TWW buddies if my temps are accurate!!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
I cleared out my temps that I took at 9am and only kept the 7am times since I know I didn't ovulate till late. We shall see!
grapefruit / 4079 posts
Used another OPK this evening and got another positive. Any thought?
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@alison206: Hey- found this on peeonastick.com
What if my OPK is positive for several days in a row?
It is possible, in a normal ovulation, to have a positive OPK for several days in a row. This is because LH peaks (surges) about 12-36 hours before ovulation occurs, and then dissipates. So, you could theoretically detect this high level of LH with positive OPK's from the time it begins to the time it dissipates-- over 36 hours.
It is also possible that your body is "gearing up" to ovulate, and you have an LH surge-- and then, for some reason (such as stress, illness, travel, or random fluke), your body fails to release an egg . . . then tries, tries again ASAP with another, or overlapping, surge. If you see a positive OPK for longer than 3 consecutive days, your egg is probably just having a little trouble getting out of the starting gate. If this happens to you occasionally, it's no big deal. If it happens a lot, talk to your doctor. (I just play one on the Internet :p)
