Charters of the hive!

I totally posted this in the September board.

So the cat woke me up at 3:30 AM - I temped then, and I temped at my normal time after 3 more hours of sleep (6:15 AM). Completely different numbers, which one do I put in my chart or do I discard them altogether??

@babycanuck: The later one, I'd say (because you had the three hours sleep). How wonky does your chart look with that number?

  3. babycanuck

    pomegranate / 3105 posts

@Grace - the early one at 36.47 C and the later one was 36.68 C
I put in the early one for now and discarded it unless you think I should still put the latter

@babycanuck: I would've recommended the later temp as well, especially if it's closer to the normal time you temp! Just note it in your temp entry in case it ends up seeming odd. You could always change it back later too.

@babycanuck: I don't know C temperatures and how they vary compared to F but those numbers don't seem super far apart. Which is more like your normal temps right now? Did you get uninterrupted sleep before the cat wakeup time/temp?

  6. babycanuck

    pomegranate / 3105 posts

@LindsayInNY - I did before the cat woke me up, I wouldn't have even gotten up if she wasn't starting to eat paper on my side table (!) so I had to get up and lock her out of the room

    36.47 C = 97.65 F
    36.68 C = 98.02 F

On the chart they look way far apart when I input the early one (hence me think it's implantation)

    Left = 6:15, right = 3:30

@babycanuck: Ooh, that is a big difference. The temp/chart on the L looks more consistent. Maybe discard it until you get tomorrow's temp? Those are the worst - when it's a "key" temp that's messed up!

@babycanuck: I would still do the later one. Here's why: Getting your hopes up that there is an implantation dip (which doesn't often happen anyways) suuuuuuuucks. And if you are preggo, it's not like putting in the "wrong" temp will change that.

    Good call ladies Thanks!

@babycanuck: I'd go with the later time. You still got a good amount of sleep between then and it's closer to your normal time. Like @LindsayInNY said, you could always discard until you have a better idea tomorrow. Good luck!

FF is saying I might have O'd CD11.

I'm skeptical... my CM doesn't indicate O, and if I overlay my two charts, my temps still look like they're in my pre-O range to me. Is it even possible to O that early with Clomid?

I'm going to keep up the BD, but what do you think?

@pui: I agree with you, it does seem like your temps are still in your lower range. Although Clomid is notorious for messing with CM. No positive OPKs? I know they were driving you nuts last cycle.

@Pui: I think you're right that you haven't ovulated yet, especially since there is an open dot for that dip temp.

As for ovulating on Clomid: I ovulated 3-4 days earlier than usual, which is normally on CD 17-18 for me. No idea if others have ovulation pushed up on Clomid, but that was my experience!

@Shutterbug: I decided to wait 3 days after Clomid before testing because I thought the first 3 positives I got last time might have been false positives. I used an OPK yesterday and it was negative. I'm going to keep using them for a few more days.

Anyone care to give some input on this cycle? I thought I had regulated off BC and was Oing around CD20-21 or so. Last cycle was completely off and I didn't O until CD28.

I put in a dummy temp for tomorrow which gave me cross hairs (I removed it for the images). But I worry my post-O temps aren't high enough yet. The orange line is this cycle.

Thoughts? Do you think I Oed?

(I removed my last cycle from the overlay since it was all wacky)

First image is using O and cover line. Second image is O only, no cover line.

@LindsayInNY: I would venture to say you ovulated on the 27th.

  18. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

@marionberry: Out of curiosity, any reason you would suspect the 27th and not the 26th for O?

  19. marionberry

    pomelo / 5041 posts

@LindsayInNY: From all I've read, you don't count ovulation until you have a temp that is higher than the past 5. Usually ovulation day is the day after a huge dip and is usually a huge rise, which would be the 27th on your chart.

Sooo...a couple of days later. I don't really know what to think or expect?

@babycanuck: It doesn't look ideal but if your temps continue to stay up over the next few days it could still happen. I'd test on 12 dpo and see what you get.

@marionberry thanks - I was looking at it today thinking "I thought my temps were supposed to continue going up?" and I have that feeling that AF is on her way this weekend, so we'll see.

@babycanuck: wishing you best of luck! My charting journey took 10 cycles so I feel your pain!

I have a question for charters. How much does interrupted sleep affect your temperature? I've also had a cold all week, would that cause it to be higher?

  25. pui

    bananas / 9899 posts

@littlek: I had a cold at the beginning of this cycle and my temps were all over the place (just bouncing around sporadically), so having a cold can affect your temps.

    pomelo / 5220 posts

Interrupted sleep has made my temp spike up a bit for sure, not huge amounts but .2-.3 I would say.

  27. Shutterbug

    grapefruit / 4703 posts

@littlek: the cold could definitely mess with your temp if it's causing you to sleep with your mouth open

  28. littlek

    GOLD / squash / 13576 posts

@pui: I think that's the case, my temp the first part of the week is all over the board.
