I don't have much babyproofing advice, but, your home is lovely!

Would cords be less appealing to her if they were bundled together in a less interesting looking way?

Some right angle swivel plugs might also mean less area for little fingers to grip and the ability to run things more snugly along/behind furniture.

@Vegmama: Oh, also, I have some drawers like that and of all things, a wooden yardstick shoved up through all 3 handles and I hope works like a charm for a long time

We used plastic plug protectors in the plugs she can reach (most of them, since they are in the wall). For things like the TV and electronics, I ran a serge protector under the TV stand and snaked all of the cords behind it. I did the same for our floor lamp, so now she can't get to them. I plan on re-arranging the drawers in our TV stand to hold her toys, so hopefully she won't want to pull the DVD player out or anything. That's as far as I have gotten.

I'm thinking about getting the magnetic cabinet locks for our cabinets, maybe those would work on your drawers?

I'd also like to say that your home is absolutely beautiful!

@Vegmama: For the outlets you use, they have outlet covers that go over the plugged in cords (http://www.amazon.com/Outlet-Plug-Cover-by-Kidco/dp/B001SKKW0E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1408635585&sr=8-5&keywords=baby+proofing+cord) (sorry for the massively long link). That could help, then plug up the rest that you don't use?

I don't have much advice about the drawers- we are "lucky" that our drawers have these obnoxiously hard to pull knobs, so since it's already hard for an adult to pull them, it's pretty much impossible for a one year old to. She is surprisingly not that interested in the cabinets- I make a point to not let her see me opening them that much, and she just doesn't open them. Maybe your LO will be the same.

For the fire place, we have a gas one (not nearly as pretty as yours!) and have just turned off the pilot light and accepted we won't be using it until she is older. We just try to keep her from banging on the glass.

We bought a gate/play yard thing that helps when I can't be supervising her closely (in the bathroom, cooking)-- I only put her in there once in a while, but I feel better that she definitely can't get at the questionably baby proofed areas.

What is in the drawers? It will be awhile before your LO can get into them - mine is almost 1 and still hasn't figured out how to open them and isn't that interested in them. If they aren't easy to open, she might not go after them at all. Oh and for the few drawers that my LO can open, we don't keep dangerous stuff in there, so it doesn't matter if she does get into it.

@Vegmama: I don't really have advice beyond what others offered but just wanted to say that your baby has the most delicious cheeks ever!

I've used what @sorrycharlie referenced above. They were the only thing that my son couldn't figure out and work on different types of furniture.

@Tanjowen: I am not sure. I haven't tried to take them off yet. Both sets of instructions (for both brands) say how to gently get them off, and then I would assume you could use a gentle cleaner or goo gone to take the sticky residue off?
