I knew I wanted to do pockets because it was more likely that a daycare would accept them if they were as similar to disposables as possible. If you are still unsure, I'd highly suggest you go to a brick and mortar store that has a good selection and go feel them and play with them. The local store I go to also does a cloth diapering class/talk one saturday a month and those are helpful too. If you don't have a store within a reasonable distance, consider doing a cloth diaper trial that will provide you with many different options for you to actually use on your baby. Stores like http://www.diaperdaisy.com and http://www.jilliansdrawers.com (as well as a number of others) have trials and rentals. I've done a rental for the newborn phase and would totally do it again - so easy! I also would highlly suggest a trial. I'd also suggest you spend some time going through websites like Dirty Diaper Laundry's New to Cloth page (http://dirtydiaperlaundry.com/cloth-diaper-information/) or Padded Tush Stats (http://paddedtushstats.com/) has a short video that goes through the basics (there are lots of sites that do this so lots of resources). Once you figure out what kind(s) of diaper(s) you want to do then start researching. Maybe look at the reviews posted on Cloth Diaper Finder (http://dirtydiaperlaundry.com/cloth-diaper-finder/) and see if that helps. Or come back here and list your maybes and let those of us that cloth diaper weigh in on our thoughts for those diapers. You may find that as your baby grows what you like may change. I use different diapers for different needs. During the day at daycare I keep it simple with one size pocket or AIO diapers like Fuzzibunz, Applecheeks (this is actually a sized diaper), and BumGenius. At home I like sized diapers and my current favorites are Itti Bitti D'Lish SIO (snap in one) and Applecheeks. For nights I like fitted diapers with covers and prefer TotsBots Bamboozle and Thirsties Fab Fitteds with Blueberry covers. I've even changed what kind of inserts I use on some of my pocket diapers.

If you do decide after you buy and use your diapers and you find that isn't what you want, there are lots of forums to sell or trade your cloth diapers so don't get disheartened if you think you've made a mistake.
