@HeatherlovesKenny: haha oh thank you... although I am told I do have a midwest accent My husband is from NY and he has a really thick NY accent, so we sound totally different.

@sarac: It's so fun!! I hope that in the long run it helps alleviate tantrums because of miscommunication.

@Thehistoryofus: good to know!! I often wonder/worry if he will know what he's signing. I do sign eat often when he is about to and when he gets his food, also milk during nursing. I'm hoping that will help. More may be a little harder at first - he might think it is eat right now.

@FriedBabyMama: right at 6 months. A couple times a week I also let him watch baby signing time but we only have one video, MY Day and he hasn't done any of the signs from it, so I can tell it's more effective when he watches me.

@sarac: I agree!! It has developed this last month that he starts really whining if I take more than five seconds to give him more food. We've incorporated more BLW which has helped as he can control his food; but some foods are BLW friendly (tonight we had soup). Well I want to instill good manners from the beginning; especially since we have established family dinners - he has to be patient while mommy and daddy eat too! So I'm telling him to say more please and not to yell at mama. haha! It was adorable to see how proud he was of himself and he really did get less whiny when he saw my reaction to his signs. Then he just kept doing it It's seriously so cute.
