My doctor is also fairly sure that I have endo, but like you, I haven't had the surgery to confirm. I got pregnant fairly quickly after going off BCP and NTNP. I have a 14 month old baby girl.

I'm curious--what part of the exam made her certain you have endo?

My RE suspects it and we've been trying for awhile. If you do a search here, I think you can find lots of positive stories!

Long story short from my end: I wish I had had surgery earlier.

@owlteach: those threads @septca: provided should give you A LOT of information! You'll see that @mrswin: had a blood test done that can help get a better idea of whether it's really endo you're dealing with (I think it's something like CA 125....)

I'm signed up for surgery for endo on March 21. I have a painful area, but it's not tender to the touch. It's weird--when I go to touch it, I expect it to be sore, but it's a deep pain inside of me.

I have endo dx'd with surgery in 2002 or 2003, and am currently TTC#1. I am on cycle #6 right now and often wonder if I need to have surgery again to sort of "clear the plumbing"....has anyone had a repeat procedure years later and had luck TTC?

@Happygal: The first time, they found adhesions outside of my reproductive system, in my bowels and other parts of my abdomen. They actually thought I may have IBS as well even though I had no bowel issues and made me get a full GI workup including colonoscopy just to be certain. That all came back negative so they said it was just endo. My doc did say when she was in there doing suregery that my tubes were clubbed at the ends so I had an HSG back then as well about 6 months post op which showed my left fallopian tube was fully functional and the right was functional but delayed. All the dye pooled up and the end and then spilled out. I think we'll see what happens this month and if no luck I'll mention it to my doc and see what her thoughts are.

My sister was told she has it, but she conceived first month! So there's hope!

I don't have endo but my mom had it so badly that after she had my sisters she had a full hysterectomy just to get rid of the pain.

She and my dad decided they were ready to start trying for kids but her Dr. told her that with how progressed her endo was, that it was going to be really difficult. The following month she was pregnant with me. A couple years later they decided they wanted to try for more, she went to the Dr. to get a check-up to see how things were going before actively trying and lo and behold, she was already pregnant, with TWINS.

Now, my family is ungodly fertile. We just got lucky that way. But her endo was extremely bad and she was able to have 2 perfectly healthy pregnancies and 3 perfectly healthy babies.
