Baby sister had the easiest bedtime ever. She fell asleep half an hour ago and I'm still in the nursery playing on my phone.
DH is downstairs doing dishes. I'm not going down until he's done.
How have you stolen some me-time lately?

Haha no shame in that! Can't think of any good ones lately... Taking a long time to go to the bathroom? Oh- actually when he is home I will fill up the tub for bath and just sit there and play with my phone, instead of going back out to the living room like I do when it's just me and Lo.

@twodoghouse: Bahaha I used to do that all the time when the ILs were in town!
Today I was exhausted after a long day of standardized testing at work so instead of picking DD up from daycare right after work I came home and sat on the couch for 30 mins then got the house cleaned up without having to entertain her. It was a nice way to start a Monday!

Haha I do that too. I came home from grocery shopping yesterday and DD was hungry and needed a nap. I stayed in her nursery on my phone until DH put all the groceries away. I did all the shopping so seemed fair to me!

awesome work! I personally like the "ohhh I need to quickly pop out to get some milk", which often becomes an extended shopping trip followed by a quick bite/coffee/browse at clothes hee hee!

@travellingbee: Haha same! Or an extra long shower!
Or pretending to be asleep when the baby wakes up. We play chicken on that one a lot

@artsyfartsy: I think we play chicken every night for the MOTN wake up. I usually lose.

Sort of doing it tomorrow. I have to go out of town for the day for a work conference. My meeting will be over at 2:30 but I have no set return time and don't plan to make one. Although most of my "me" time is likely going to be sitting in traffic I am going to enjoy being all alone.

No shame! I let the baby nurse way longer than he needs to when DH is home and I just don't have the energy to help with big sister.

LOL!!! I love this. Yes, we both take extra time in the bathroom ... I feel guilty about it sometimes, but on a day when I'm parenting alone, I sometimes have to pee with her on my lap, sooooo ... Mama gets a little extra time with her phone from time to time!

Ha yes. I'm very newly pregnant and my nausea just kicked in this weekend and I am milking it. I mean it truly is miserable but I could definitely be way more helpful than I'm being, which is super helpless and lazy.

@Mrs. Taco: The daycare that is our first choice allows for a 6:30pm pick up without paying additional fees. It's only a few min from the house so I think I will utilize that once in a while to get things done before picking DD up.

All the time.
DH is way worse about it though. I know he's not pooping like 10 times a day for 20 minutes a piece, though he'd like me to think he is. I always send DS in after him hahahaa I'm mean

Often! On DH's days off it takes me 3 years to shower and "get ready."

@ValentineMommy: YES. Whenever he doesn't want to do something he "has to poop." Somehow he magically "has to poop" every night when I tell Sadie it's time for her bath.

Sometimes I just pass out w/ DD... Even though I know I should get up to pump, or clean, or do laundry, or the billion things that I don't have time otherwise to do!

Um - told DH I needed to leave for our HB meetup an hour before I actually needed to so I could go browse Target alone.

Oh man, DH is the WORST at this. He "has to use tge bathroom" pretty much all day on sat & sun and intentionally hangs around at work late in order to miss dinner, bath & bed. He times it so that he's walking through the door just as im finishing bedtime. I've called him out on it before and gotten him to admit doing it purposefully.
On the flipside it would be impossible for me, even just for 5 minutes. The second he is alone with lo his clock starts ticking and he gets angrier by the second. He will come find me if i try to take any me time whatsoever. I can't complain because i leave very early for work everyday and DH has to watch lo for hours before daycare opens and he totally cleans the house and starts dinner, so ultimately i understand why he is like this when it's "my" turn.

@photojane: seriously. Do they really think we don't know what's really going on? Lol!
