I LOVE Amazon subscribe and save for diapers, wipes and household products. A neighbor was recently raving about Costco. I have never been to Costco. How do the prices compare to Amazon? Is it worth it? We would be looking at it for diapers, wipes and household products. DH loves his weekly grocery trip to Harris Teeter, so we wouldn't be grocery shopping at Costco.

I don't shop at Costco but next time DH is there I would have him note the prices of the items you're thinking about. Then compare it to the Amazon prices.
I shop at BJs and for diapers S&S is stil cheaper even when I stack BJ coupons with manf coupons! Same for all the other household stuff bc I can use coupons at BJs.

I have a Costco membership. I got it to buy formula but I do also buy wipes there (Kirkland brand) and some grocery/household items. I think to save money you need to be a knowledgeable shopper and know what's really a bargain. For baby stuff, I think it really depends on what brands that you use. They only carry certain diaper brands (Huggies and Kirkland) so if your LO only uses a certain brand of diapers, like Pampers, you're better off on Amazon.

@dookie32: We use pampers, so it doesn't sound like diapers would be something to purchase there. Maybe for things like toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, etc, it might be better??

I'm in Canada and we don't have the same Amazon you American's do (I really hope they expand up here eventually)! We have a Costco membership which we use all the time.

@littlek: We joined costco recently thinking we would use it for diapers.. but instead have just stuck with pampers. But for us we really didn't hesitate because we now buy our gas a costco and because of my husband's long commute the gas savings alone pay for the $55 membership fee so it was a no lose situation.

Yeah- we do toilet paper, dish soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags (definitely a bargain), laundry detergent. I think it's worth it for those. We are only a family of 3 so I like getting the bigger sizes for those things so I don't have to worry about buying them for a few months. Same thing with the household stuff though- there are only certain brands and not a lot of variety.

Oh, man. I'm a Costco fanatic. It's definitely worth it for things like paper goods, garbage bags, detergents, etc. I also get all of our razor blades, vitamins, and other toiletries there. I think for a lot of items, it may not be cheaper, but it's worth it to not have to buy them constantly. And the store brand (Kirkland) is actually really good. And they treat their employees well.

I can't say enough good things about costco, I shop there monthly. We have a large family and buy almost everything in bulk. I just bought the Kirkland brand diapers with a $5 off coupon which made them .20 each (size 5) .24 each without a coupon. Both Huggies and Kirkland are the same price with the same amount as well. When LO was on formula we'd buy her formula there too.

Um both!? I use them both for different things. I don't buy diapers or baby stuff yet, so I can't say anything about that. Costco's toilet paper, paper towels, grocery bags, detergent etc. are super cheap. Sometimes the size is a good thing (only have to buy trash bags like once a year!) and other times it's not so good (seriously did I need that much sugar??) I also buy a lot of non-perishable food that is hard to get around here on amazon subscribe and save.

costco is a better deal on the huggies natural care wipes, but amazon has the best deal on pampers diapers since costco doesnt carry pampers

We don't have a nearby Costco so we have started doing amazon subscribe and save. We needed diapers and wipes and since I have Amazon prime I joined Amazon mom for free and got 20% off those. If you place five subscriptions that arrive in the same month you get 15% off instead of the standard 5% (diapers and wipes count toward five but you don't get an addt'l 15% off those).
I ordered a box of 204 size 2 diapers, a box of 700 wipes, 20 huge rolls of paper towels, 6 bottles of seventh generation dish washing soap, and a bottle of method laundry detergent (50 loads) for just under $90.

OMG! My girl friend just came over today and was raving about the amazon subscribe and save! I had never heard of it until now. I am thinking about comparing it to Costco. (Although I live so close to Costco I also am not sure it would really be worth it for me....)
