@Mrs. Pen: Try Jcrew. Where are those fitted cargo pants from?

Van Heusen! I'm living in their ankle-length pants right now for work. They're very comfortable!! They also have crop-length that are equally comfortable. Both come in cute colors and patterns. I love them.

BR has a couple ankle length work slacks. I like the BR fit and wear better than Loft. For shoes a pointy toe flat feels business like:

Have you tried the pixie pants at Old Navy? I don't have good luck with pants but those are like the holy grail of pants for me!!

Sketchers has some casual flats that are super comfortable - I have a pair that are just plain black. They are not the *most* fashionable but they pass fine and are very comfortable.

@Mrs. Pen: I'm a nurse too and don't wear scrubs, so I always try and find some nice casual office clothes. I usually wear long tunics or dresses with leggings/tights. Otherwise, my favorite Target stretchy office pants and a button up shirt from Express.

ETA: I also have a couple of the Skechers Go Walk shoes in black. They totally work for office shoes + running around in clinics.

This is my spring/summer uniform: fitted pants, usually in a print, and a solid top. Today I am wearing a pair of gingham pants in navy and white from Banana Republic and a navy tie front top from Ann Taylor. For color, a coral beaded necklace and a pair of navy flats.

I have curvy shape, but the Logan and Sloan fits from Banana Republic fit me well. I like the ones that are machine washable the most.

I need to wear clothes like you describe to work. For pants, I wear Old Navy Pixies. For tops, there is this one that H&M makes that is three quarter sleeve and comes in a bunch of different colors. I can't for the life of me find it on their website but I will take a picture when I get home of one.

For shoes I just wear Keen Sienna MJ or Crocs ballet flats. Neither are terribly cute. The latter is generally less than $30 and is super easy to clean.

I'm a nurse and have the same dress code as you.

Usually I wear ankle length pants (we are allowed to wear jeans) with either converse, Toms or ballet flats. My ballet flats are San Edelman. Most of my pants I've gotten at Zara!
