Today I am technically off from work, but I have some things I need to get done, so I took LO to daycare for a few hours today. Since I had the time, I hung out there for awhile to talk to them about her schedule, feeding, etc.

While I was there, I noticed a baby that is the same age as my LO being given a bottle to feed herself. Her head may have initially been resting on a boppy, but when I saw her she was laying flat on her back with a stuffed animal under the bottle to help prop it up. She did look like she was holding the bottle on her own, but still...

I don't want my LO fed that way. I understand that there are only 2 of them and 6 babies, but I want her to drink her bottle sitting up and with assistance/pacing.

I'm headed back there in a bit and think I will bring that kellymom bottle feeding the breastfed baby article and staple it to her feeding plan.

It's going to require that I put on my big girl pants though - I hate confrontation, even if I try to say it as nicely as possible, I still feel bad.

I do think though that the way they feed her contributes to her eating more than the rec 1-1.5oz of bm per hour away from mom (some days she eats 2+oz per hr). They seem to believe that she's underfed though, even though she's 99th percentile for height and 74th for weight. Ugh!

Anyway, would you say something about how they are giving bottles? Or should I let it go? How does your daycare do it?
