Hoping for additional input and advice on our situation: my LO is 27 months and has been in the same daycare center since 5 mos of age. In the toddler room, there was a phase where she was bit several times and also bit others--this was about 6 months ago. Daycare handled it appropriately in my opinion by shadowing the biting child and offering a teetered for an alternative.

Now, there has been a new rash of problems. LO was bit a few times last month. In the last 6 days at school, she has bit other kids 4 times. It has all been different kids and when I talk to her classroom teacher, it sounds understandable and pretty age appropriate.

But, DH picked her up yesterday and was told that she was moved to a different room to switch things up. This morning I brought her to her room and her teacher told me initially that she would stay in there, only to have the center director come in a minute later and tell me she had to go back to the other room just to are how it goes. DH picked her up again and was told they are thinking about putting her in a group with two other kids (who are also identified as "problem biters") and a different teacher starting next week.

I am very frustrated and feel that the center is overreacting and that my LO is not as much of a problem as the director seems to think. I know that the last bite was bad and the other child's mother was understandably upset but I also think that this is not unexpected for kids this age. I am hoping to request a meeting with the director next week but am looking for feedback:

Does this seem like the school is overreacting to you? How would you approach the director to explain the concerns?
