@whenoceansrise: Sorry for the rough night and now day! Hopefully you got to pump!
I got half ways to work yesterday and realized I had forgotten my parts as well and had to go back and get them (20 minutes late).
@winniebee: Sorry for the rough sleep! 5:30 is super early!

@whenoceansrise: ummmm you just got me thinking..... what am I going to do when I go back to work July 27th?
Since I am not planning on pumping and giving G formula.....
Hmmm what was I thinking I just can't go from nursing all day to not right?!
Her schedule with nursing seems to follow....
7a.m.
11 a.m.
2p.m.
5p.m.
7:30 p.m.
So truly I will be missing 2 sessions???
Huh... didn't even think about this
eggplant / 11861 posts
Also when she goes should I continue to nurse her on weekends? Or do sippy cup all day except for the morning and night like weekdays?
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: I would think you'd probably want to pump once during the day until your supply decreases? The most I've gone without pumping or nursing so far (besides nights) is 5-1/2 hours and I was rock hard!
Eventually I want to get to pumping just once per day, and still nursing morning/nights and weekend if possible. (although not sure how that would work either w/ supply).

@FaithFertility: I think it would just be bad for 1 week max and your body will realize you don't need the milk. I think on weekends it depends on how well she is doing with the sippy and if she will still take it with you there!
My supply is continuing to go down I'm down to pumping twice a day b/c I'm just way too busy at work to do 3 times. I used to get at least 2 bottles but now I don't even quite make 2 bottles. Oh well, as long as I can still give her SOME breastmilk..

@josina: Yeah I truly didn't even think about me....lol
I have been so worried about her

@snowjewelz: Ughhhh why can't our babes come to work with us.....lol

@snowjewelz: This kid and her zippy/bottle issues I swear.....lol

@FaithFertility: I still only nurse I weekends, but I pump 3 times each day. I think if you're not planning on pumping during the day nursing all weekend would make your cycle hard to regulate, so you'd likely be leaking and such during the day.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: When I was weaning Xander off bottles during the week, I cut out the same nursing sessions on the weekend so that my body wouldn't be confused about what we were doing.

@FaithFertility: yikes i have no advice, but missing two sessions was super painful!

@BandDmommy: That would really annoy me with the photo sharing Luckily my MIL isn't on FB or she would be all over that.
@FaithFertility: That's a great night! 8am sounds like a dream I don't make and effort to wake J up if he falls asleep nursing. Just the fact that he is able to fall asleep on his own is good enough for me!

@whenoceansrise: Ugh! Sounds like a bad night and a bad day! I'm so sorry I hope everything worked out with the pumping.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: It will definitely get better. Some days are SO hard though. Sorry friend
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: Could you pump once (some time between 12-1) until your body adjusts and wean down from there? I think it would be pretty uncomfortable if you stopped cold turkey and you'd risk plugged ducts & mastitis.
eggplant / 11861 posts
I think I am going to cut out her session at 11 starting Friday and just offer the sippy with lunch and after if need be until 2ish our next session
Tonight she downed 2oz so I put in 2 more and she drank it all!!!!
So I know she can do it, just have to get her to do it...
But I think if I am consistent and make it a norm with lunch we will start there for now!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Yeah I can....I think I definitely will. Funny how I am so worried about her, I never even thought of this..lol
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@FaithFertility: so glad she drank for you! That sounds like a good plan.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: Thank you, I've learned she is just not consistent with anything.....lol including sleep hahahaha
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: that's wonderful that she did so well with the sippy! That pumping schedule makes sense. Funny how we're always thinking about our kids and forgetting about ourselves!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Right?!?!? It truly as a "mom" was the first time I thought wait....I need to think of me too!
She did sooo good last night, it was as if her and God knew I was getting anxiety....even if it was a one time thing I know she likes the formula and CAN drink from it!
She was nice with sippy, but had an awful night sleeping.... I'm like really kid after almost STTN and going back to sleep yourself

Seriously, these last 2 weeks have been a crazy one for E -- so much going on! She waved at people at the grocery store yesterday (who knew?!), figured out her Zoli cup, eats 3 meals a day, and is officially down to 2-naps (845ish, 1ish). She has also been waking up at 530a, but I don't get her out of bed until at least 6a. She scoots around and attacks her loveys or finds her wubba -- yesterday I accidentally fell back asleep until 630a, and she wasn't very happy about the extra half hour before her milk

@faithfertility: that is awesome about the sippy! glad she is figuring it out (and putting up with it! ha)
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: ughhhhh the waving, it is awesome!!!!!!!!!
Whooo hooo to Zoli cup I want to get one for water, she is not a fan!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: how long is that last nap?
G has been doing 2 naps and seems like those days are better sleep wise if she can stretch that last nap...
pear / 1961 posts
@faithfertility: naps are 8:45a-10a and 1p-3p or so. The afternoon one is usually not shorter than 2 hours, sometimes 2.5. and then she goes to bed around 6p...sometimes stretch her til 630 or 7p if i need to (depending on whether i want to put her down before we eat dinner or after)
eggplant / 11861 posts
@KayKay: That would be perfect, G will not naplong enough to get that 2nd nap to be it....if so I'd be keepinfg her up for 4.5 hrs before bed which she can do sometimes, crazy girl!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: Glad the sippy is finally working for her! We had an abnormal night too... up every 2 hours; After the 2nd wake-up we just co-slept, loved the extra cuddles.
@KayKay: Yay for waving, how fun! We're trying to teach E how to wave bye-bye. No-go yet. Also doing 2 naps.
Did any babies eat less from the bottle while teething? E's working on his bottom tooth this week and has been drinking less again, 2 bottles most of the week, which was okay because of how he was spacing them (nurses fine), but then yesterday only 1-1/2 soooo we'll see how he does today and might be back in to check his ears again. I'm paranoid now that he's had so many! And the only symptom he gives us is less bottles during the day.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: hahahahah you sound just like me, I truly cherish the cuddles as tired as I am! She woke at 12, 2 and 4
12 and 4 I fed her she was sucking on my neck as I tried to rock her?! Weird? At 2 she cried but fell back asleep, up for day at 6!
Hope E is ok, and no ear infection!!!!!!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: EXACT same schedule last night. lol. Normally I'd get up to feed him but was tired so just fed him in bed at 12, and then he fussed a bit when I put him back in the crib... I've taken to 'back massages' the past couple nights to help him fall asleep... he loves them - as soon as I try to sneak away, thinking he's sleeping he looks at me like Mom! Don't stop! lol.
At 2 I just brought him into bed. I guess since he ate less yesterday he made up for it last night.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: Awwww back massages too cute!!!!!
Yeah I mean when she sucks my neck like a leach how could I not feed her....lol
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@FaithFertility: E never did take to a pacifier, but he always 'sucks' to fall asleep; he'll roll to his belly and suck on the mattress, or on his side he'll reach for his bear blanket that hangs over the rail and suck on that.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@josina: awww yeah G dose not take a paci either, she really doesnt suck anything either.....so it was odd....
She talks herself to sleep MOTN....lol
pomelo / 5298 posts
K only had one short nap yesterday. But they said she ate like a champ. Pasta and peas for lunch and crackers for an afternoon snack. She's also taking a sippy with water too. She was pretty miserable last night (soooo tired!) and woke up earlier than I would have liked this morning and had a stuffy nose. We're fortunate that her colds seem pretty mild with just some congestion and a cough, but I'm tired of them.
She's also not attached to her pacifier, she plays with it more than sucking it. She's also not really much of a thumb sucker. She'll do it occasionally but not consistently.

These babies are getting so big!!!!!!
I am working on getting Ryan down to 2 naps. I am thinking or hoping that linger awake times will help
Him stop cat napping....but then today he falls asleep in the car. Oh well.
7 months today. We've got sitting alone, rolling and scooting, chowing down 3 meals, drinking from a straw cup (and he figured out the camelback?!). No teeth no crawling nowhere near STTN.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: We are trying 2 naps too when she sleeps longer she has been doing pretty good...dare I say that?!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
All our babies are growing up!
Kara can only do two naps if A) she is not up super early and B) if I'm with her! I feel like I'm the only one that's like meticulously timing her naps haha. And she often will take a long nap for me (but I have to help her connect cycles). But seriously, we gotta work on night sleep first!
And she is officially crawling! She has been army crawling but most like scooting and her head would swing back and forth with her arms too. But last night she did like for real crawling and now she is just going and going!! I gotta get baby gates ASAP!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Haha we're no where near STTN either. Happy 7 mo Ryan!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: I'm imagining him face down sucking on the mattress lol!
