@whenoceansrise: Awesome sleep! Our nights got better too when I turned off the monitor. He's right next to our bedroom so I can hear him if he's upset / hungry, but the small whimpers I don't hear and he'll put himself back to bed.
@FaithFertility: Glad this morning went well! Hopefully the 1/2 day flies by!
Just got back from the dr. with Ethan and we have ear infection #5. They did bring up tubes this time. He's on a different antibiotic and also a steroid because he had some wheezing in his lungs.

Day 1:
G had a great time until nap time..lol she said she went to put her down and she flipped a lid
So she took her outback with the other kiddos and she fell asleep in stroller for 45 mins
Loved playing but got really scared when
The 1.5 yr old started screaming, she cried!
I mean that is scary she isn't around that at home!
She ate all her breakfast and lunch but only took 4 sips from her sippy.......which I knew you'd be the case so no surprise there!
I came to get her and her eyes were red so I knew she cried a lot
It is hard, but I know the lady loves her and G loves her too! She waved bye to her and smiled!
G nursed like a fool when we got home and passed out!
Welp day 1 down!....lol
We can do this!

@FaithFertility: Awww, poor girl with her red eyes. So lucky that you can do 1/2 days to start so she can get used to it a little at a time! (And you!) And if day 1 is the worst it will only get better from here.

@snowjewelz: In the mornings I get quite a bit so I just pump for 1 let down. I'm always in a hurry so I don't pump longer! Should really start getting up earlier.

@josina: awww poor babe, hope he isn't in too much discomfort!! Lucky for him he has a good mama

@josina: Wow, poor guy! Are you going to get tubes? Or wait and see for now. And wheezing is the WORST. Breathing issues make me so paranoid. Hope your little guy feels better soon. Are you still figuring out the daycare situation too?
@FaithFertility: Awww! The first day is bound to be hard. But as she gets used to it, it'll get better and better. Logan is finally starting to take better naps at daycare, but they had to move his crib into the corner so he couldn't see anyone or else he'd get mad and not nap, haha.

@Adira: awww haha yeah her pnp is in her bedroom
She said that way the older kids don't wake her so that was thoughtful and nice

@FaithFertility: not bad at all! I think the first few weeks is just an adjustment period so it takes some time! doing half days is a good idea!
@josina: that's great! glad your supply is great! hope E feels better and won't need tubes!!
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: I guess wait and see for now, but I'm doing my research on tubes. If this continues sounds like it is definitely the better way to go? We've had 5 in 5 months!
We were using his inhaler Friday & Saturday; he sounded better yesterday/today, but dr. could still pick it up. E doesn't like the inhaler anymore so it's a struggle to get those 2 puffs in!
Yep to daycare. We looked at the in-home close to our house and what's great about her is that E would be the only full-time other than her 2 year old. She's got some part-timers that are in school. She would be quiting her job as a CN to do daycare so it's entirely dependent on us going to her. Our original sitter is still in limbo, hasn't heard anything yet so I just asked her to keep us posted. I still do love her as a sitter but am going to want only 4 full time kids. I think we will probably end up going with the new sitter, and I'm hoping that that may mean less ear infections (less colds) since he will only be around 1 other girl (although school kids = school germs so who knows).
**The center in town is full so they aren't an option.

@FaithFertility: glad to hear you both survived! Hope tomorrow is better!

@josina: I believe both my niece and nephew had tubes and found them to be helpful, although I think they were older, maybe around 2, when it happened. 5 already does sound like a lot so hopefully the dr is able to come up with a good solution.

@josina: Nice!!!! I'll pray your daycare situation works like I pray mine does ♡

@josina: Sorry E has yet another ear infection.
@FaithFertility: Glad you survived the first day.
M surprised us last night. He went to bed at 7pm, ate at 11:15pm and then went until 6:30am without eating again. He stirred a few times, but went right back to sleep. Guess all the fishes wore him out. LOL

This vacation has beat me something horrible. And we don't get home until Wednesday. Teething, head colds, sleeping issues make for some pretty miserable kids and one really cranky mom.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@BandDmommy: Someone needs to tell D to SLOW DOWN!!! No need to grow up so fast!!
@MamaG: Oh no!!! Vacations are not supposed to be like that! I'm sorry!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: I saw that!!
@MamaG: Aww I am so sorry to hear! I hope things look up soon!
I use the Wonder Weeks app and K literally is on the dot with bad sleep as her leap 6 is starting!
She is an escape artists.. We haven't gated off her play area yet, so I just block the open side with some of her big toys. She goes straight to the "openings" and tries to get out! And she is pulling up to stand all the time and my arms are tired, lol!

@BandDmommy: D is amazing! Watch out world, here she comes!
@MamaG: Awww, sorry for the not-so-great vacation. Hopefully today is better?
@snowjewelz: So not ready for E to be on the move that much, we've got some baby-proofing to do yet.
Ethan likes to be pulled up now, but he is SO wobbly! He won't be standing on his own for awhile I don't think.
Crappy sleep last night, up every 2 hours but he seemed happier this morning. E didn't take any bottles yesterday but nursed fine, (and made up for it last night!) hoping today goes better. He's gets to hang with Aunty today as back-up daycare is closed.

@josina: Auntie days are best days!!!! G loves her aunts!!! Hope he has a great day! ♡
Man, I feel like G is no where near crawling...lol Some days she will push up and others no way...she is content rolling or playing on her back or sitting up!

How do you wake up this face?!?!? So let her sleep in our bed for a few this morning!

@josina: She is moving and we still haven't baby proofed! She is pretty solid on standing, but she always wants to lunge somewhere or "walk" so she doesn't seem happy to just stand still haha. We had bad sleep last night too... Up from 5-6 Glad he gets to hang with family today! I hope your daycare search bears fruit soon!
@FaithFertility: I am sooo bad at waking K up.. I won't do it ever hahaha! She is a lil angel

@FaithFertility: so cute!! @josina: sorry you had such bad sleep. That must have been tough.
@MamaG: I am so sorry! I went through vacation sleep hell so I feel your pain.
@snowjewelz: @banddmommy: I wish my guy was as mobile as your girls!
@josina: another one? I hope he gets better soon.

You guys, the last couple of weeks had been really rough with the kids so yesterday, I finally decided to nap train A at just under 8 months. I attempted nap training when he was younger and it would be AWFUL. All of his naps were in the Ergo and this boy is like 23 lbs. the first nap was bad. Cried for 40 min (I went in 3 times) before sleeping for only 35 min. I put him down 2.5 hours later and he only cried for 5 minutes before sleeping for almost 2 hours!! I ergo'd him for the third nap because we had to run an errand. This morning he only cried for 2 minutes before flopping around and falling asleep after 10 min. This is just to give hope to others! Nap training can be done at the later months! I feel sooo free now that I don't need him strapped to me and can hang out with LO1 while he sleeps.

@Freckles: That's AWESOME that the nap training is working!!!! Yay!!

@snowjewelz: aww crap. I forgot about wonder weeks. Yah we are in the leap too.
It's hard when vacation in non vacation towns to find a great hotel. A suite would have helped a lot I think.
I also think if we weren't all battling this cough and congestion things could have been better.

@MamaG: vacation with small children is just... not. I hope you're all doing better!
