@whenoceansrise: woot sleep! Keep it up!
@josina: have you settled into a new daycare home? Hope your boy has a better day.
@KayKay: safe travels and enjoy all of the family time.
@BandDmommy: yah for your own bed. Yall have been gone a long time.
@winniebee: yippee dairy! Have fun at the lake.
@Adira: thanks for the eczema advice the other day. A couple of applications of cortisone cream and she's all clear!
Vacation brought two teeth and Mamama for K. We are trying to get home today. I can't wait to be in my own bed.

@whenoceansrise: That IS exciting!!!
@MamaG: Yay! Glad the cortisone helped! I hope you're able to get home today.

I've been meaning to ask. Do any of you have well meaning strangers constantly call your baby the wrong gender? We run into this all the time. K always has her little whale spout pony on top of her head. But her car seat is red/grey. And a lot of her clothes are blue, though not boy clothes.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MamaG: No, but we're not really out and about much where strangers would see him. Plus I think it's probably more common for girls to be confused for boys.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@BandDmommy: I actually thought of Ds red car seat this morning and was betting the bow helps you.
We had this same issue with C. Even after her ears were pierced. And she wore a lot of pink!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: YES!! Since G is pretty hairless and HATES bows( will only wear for a pic)
We get He and boy ALL the time....lol
She has a blue O ball because that was the only color left and she really liked it a few months ago, a lady commented on how adorable HE was and I politely said thank you SHE sure is....
She then says ...Why do you have a blue ball?? Really?
I mostly get it from older people I think they see no hair=boy...so I would think K has a BIG leg up in that department!

Day 3 ...blahhh she said G did great but started to get super fussy and root on her around 12
She tried sippy, a straw, and just a cup... nada!!!!
Please baby figure this out!!!!!!!!!!

@whenoceansrise: Great pics and jealous of the 2nd shooting at weddings, that will be so fun!
@MamaG: I'm procrastinating on this daycare decision! He's still at our back-up for now until I decide one way or the other. Ugh. The whole thing stresses me out so I keep putting it off, but since the new daycare needs a 2 week notice I should get on it.
I think once someone may have said she instead of he, but they quickly corrected themselves.

@Adira: Happy 8 months to Logan!
@winniebee: Ryan's sleep seems pretty similar to Kara's! I hope ALL her naps start to lengthen so she can drop that 3rd nap permanently! Enjoy the lake and all the diary!
@KayKay: Aww! Nice about having a month off! Hope you guys can enjoy some quality family time after the move!
@whenoceansrise: Amazing photos!
@MamaG: Yes but I think both times I was wearing her so they couldn't tell color of her clothes and no bow
@FaithFertility: Aww it's okay! I also think maybe it just takes a while of consistently offering the cups.. Or hey, maybe just teach her to use a for real cup! I've forgot her cup out here and there and I just let K sip from a real cup and it's pretty easy, tho of course I have to hold and tilt it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
So we have to start thinking about putting K in daycare too... Which option would you choose?
3 half days or 2 full days?
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I would do 3 half days. Full days are long, and going only twice a week would be so infrequent that I don't think she'd get enough consistency. I think half days would be better.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: welp I got a straw cup until zoli arrives abs she figured it out already she is something else this kid....lol
Praying she takes it tomorrow

@Adira: Happy 8 months to Logan!
@KayKay: I hope your day is going well - moving fairly local with a toddler was no picnic. I can't imagine cross-country!
@BandDmommy: It's tough to be away - enjoy being at home!
@winniebee: That's amazing! Isn't it wonderful not to have to think and plan everything you eat? Yay for dairy!
@josina: Sorry that he's having a hard time while you're gone! Everything is a phase but it doesn't make it much easier at the moment
@whenoceansrise: Those pictures are amazing! Such a happy boy
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: People usually know that Jack is a boy, but his big sister was a different story. I could dress Molly up in pink with bows and people would still assume that she was a boy pretty much every day! She was bald until her first birthday though - so obviously not the same issue as your kiddo
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: Thanks! That's what I'm thinking too... The 2 full days is just better for the adults, haha. She already goes to my SIL's two mornings a week, so I know she is fine with that.
It's just less options for us daycares wise; a lot of centers by me don't offer part-day for infants.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: Well, do whatever makes the most sense. Even though 2 full days may not be as good for baby as 3 half days, that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it if it makes more sense for you!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: I will opt for 3 half days, unless we don't like the daycare(s) that offer it I guess! The full days will just make DH and my mom's lives easier; that they will each have one full day off a week from her.
pear / 1961 posts
@snowjewelz: I would try to do 3 days, either half or full. Like @adira: said, two might be hard for her to get used to (but in sure would work out fine if you had to!).
@mamag: e gets mistaken for a boy even though she has (some...spiky) hair. And it doesn't help when I say her name is Elliott either but k was bald til two and got "he" even if she was wearing a pink ruffled dress (seriously...that happened) soooo?? I think older people just assume babies are all boys ha.

@MamaG: you know no one had really ever thought either of my boys was a girl. No idea why really!

@whenoceansrise: So cute!
@Adira: Happy 8 months Logan!
@KayKay: Safe travels!
@MamaG: People always question if M is a boy. He's usually wearing a dark colored onesie & has a red/black car seat & stroller. lol
@winniebee: Glad you can eat dairy again!
So M has been stretching his overnight feedings to 6.5 hrs!

@AngelicOne: finally! You've had such a rough go if sleep I'm glad for you!

We are home. Both kids are in their respective beds, though the older one is yelling at the monitor presently. My husband is outside talking to the friend that just delivered our new A/C system that will be installed tomorrow.
Me and both of the girls are coughing and have runny/stuffy noses.
We survived. But I'm not rested. I'm running on fumes and short tempered. I need a mommy vacation ;).
Next up, wash and make bottles for tomorrow. Do a load of laundry. Pack work and school bags and resume mostly normal life tomorrow.

@MamaG: Glad that you're home at least. I have a hard time with kids and vacations and other things that are supposed to be relaxing. I get my hopes up and then of course it's just so much more work than it would be to just stay at home. This weekend we're supposed to go to my parents' house for one night. It's going to take me so long to pack everyone's stuff and the naps will be all messed up and blah blah blah and it's just for one night!
hugs!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Yes! I tried to convince my husband that we should just do a stay-cation. We could still send the girls to daycare and do whatever we wanted from drop off to pick up. He wasn't having it. It would have saved a lot of money and a lot of stress/anxiety for me. Oh well. It's over!
Good luck with your overnight!
