@MamaG: omg the staycation you're describing sounds amazing! That would be wonderful. Get your DH on board for next time now (while he still remembers how unrelaxing the "vacation" was)

@MamaG: Glad you made it home! But man, bummer about the vacation not being very relaxing! I think I'd only want to go on one with my kids if we brought grandparents to take care of the kids, haha.

In other news she went to bed at 7:45 and I had to wake her at 7:20

@FaithFertility: Aww. sorry it was hard this morning! And WOW to the sleep!
Ethan I think is getting some separation anxiety (maybe i said that already?), last night we went to a parade and I walked away to get some water and he cried instantly on dad's lap until I got back. I feel bad for DH! Today he got a little pouty face at daycare but no tears, at least not while I was there.
I got daycare figured out last night... the choice was taken away when my old daycare msg'd and said she wouldn't be doing it anymore, didn't say why so not sure if it's her choice or she's not allowed, or both probably. So we're starting with the new in-home on the 10th, it will be Ethan and a 2 year old girl, and her 7 year old boy until school starts. I think it will all be for the best, just feel bad for E getting moved around so much, he'll get used to my back-up and then have to move again.

@josina: awwww yeah sounds like a little separation anxiety....G has it some days......usually if it is just me.and her in the house....lol can't enter a different room!
I'm glad you got daycare figured out, these things are so hard!
E seems like an easy going kiddo!!! I'm sure he will adjust just fine!

@FaithFertility: the first few weeks of daycare are so hard!! You guys are doing great. Keep on truckin!

@FaithFertility: Sorry it was hard to drop her off Great sleep though!
@josina: Glad that you have a solution for daycare and that you can move on. I'm sure that E will be fine. At least he's at the age where he's young enough to get used to things pretty quickly, even if it is hard for both of you at the moment!

@FaithFertility: Aww it's okay! I've been back to work for 5+ months and it's still hard to leave the house and I still miss her all day long
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: Fingers crossed! Seems like he'll have be in good care and company! Glad it's finally sorted out.. It's still such a bummer what happened. Did I miss you update on what happened to the lil girl?

@snowjewelz: I think I just posted it on the other post I had started; they had gotten her heart beating, but no brain activity so unhooked life support that night, after her dad (who was stationed overseas) made it back.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Ummmm... that's an amazing stretch of sleep!!!
@josina: I think separation anxiety is normal at this age. Glad you got the daycare situation figured out! I think it's for the best that you won't be returning to your previous provider. Hopefully the new one is awesome!

Guys, what is up with my baby?
He had an ear infection in his left ear Monday and he's on day 4(of 6) of antibiotics (new antibiotic from what he's had) for that and day 4(of 6) of steroids for wheezing from his cold.
He hasn't been eating much from bottles which I attributed to the ear infection.
Yesterday he only drank 1 bottle of milk at daycare, didn't want cereal but ate food and drank a bottle of apple juice.
We thought it might be the different bottle (usually use Dr. Browns but apple juice was in Avent) so tried milk in the Avent bottle today, and today, no milk, barely any apple juice either, and a little bit of food. He will only let the daycare sitter hold him, her (older) children can't or he fusses. At home he only wants me to hold him, fusses for dh.
Is it part of his new separation anxiety? Tummy upset from medicine? Sick from something else (strep is going around). Bottle strike? He still nurses fine. Do I call the dr?
If only he could talk!

@josina: any improvement in the wheezing? I'd probably contact the dr. But I'm also on high anxiety when it comes to sickness.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@MamaG: I don't notice the wheezing at all, it was just with the stethoscope the dr. picked it up. His cold is pretty much gone other than a little runny nose.
Sitter just mentioned possibly teething, his top 2 are coming in and a back molar so maybe that's all it is?
Just too many things all at once for him.

Could be some separation anxiety as far as being held, but that doesn't really explain the change in eating.
We saw some separation anxiety while on vacation. K wasn't very content if someone other than me or DH were holding her.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
I know it's not much, but Kara can push back up to sitting position from crawling! Still working on standing.. She pulls up on her knees fine, but still can't really stand holding onto something for more than a few secs. She will be 8 mo next week.. I just can't believe how fast time is flying by!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: She is such a big girl!!!!!
She needs to FaceTime G and show her....lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: G can clap and wave! Kara is like uhh you do that and entertain me, lol.
I've also been feeling kinda down bc I feel like I still give her so many sleep crutches...
eggplant / 11861 posts
@BandDmommy: DADA here too....but I saw that coming a mile away
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: Don't! We nurse to sleep nightly and honestly I'm 100% ok with it!!!!
If your happy, and she is happy......it's all good!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@BandDmommy: lol!
I get mamammaa and dadadadada and babababab... sadly I know none of them are for us haha
@FaithFertility: I guess! she nurses to sleep, STILL sleeps in her Merlin magic sleepsuit and we still co sleep and she has a paci tho she doesn't seem to really rely on it. AND we rock to sleep if nursing/crying for a lil doesn't work.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@snowjewelz: we pretty much do all of those things too, whatever works. The only thing that worries me is if we want to get a sitter at night some time, but day care gets him to sleep so it is possible...
We only have bababa's and mamama's here, but nothing that actually applies to me.
E is fine tonight, happy as can be, so not sure on his sudden bottle strike...
pomelo / 5298 posts
We've had dada for a while and now she's added mama and baba. I don't believe they have real meaning, but when we ask her where mama or dada are she will look in the right direction.
We got our home A/C replaced today. And now the A/C in my car isn't working! I guess I need to see if I can get it in for service tomorrow. I'm tired of being hot, I need to move somewhere cooler.
