@josina: yikes!! So glad it's not the flu, and I bet he'll kick it before anything gets worse

@josina: seriously! the words themselves just seem so scary!

G's nursing sessions seem to be so short these days 7-8 mins at times and then she will pull away or cough up milk as if she is full, she will still go 2-3 hrs between feedings so I'm thinking she just better at it now

Gahhhh!!!! I'm sooooooo upset!!!! I just found out that the Infant teacher that LOVES Xander and is AMAZING with babies and the entire reason I felt totally comfortable leaving Logan there is GONE!!!! Every time I saw her, she always interacted with Xander even though he wasn't in her room anymore and she kept telling me how excited she was for Logan to start and now she's not even there anymore!!! I want to cry!

@winniebee: I'm so sorry you aren't getting any sleep!!!
@snowjewelz: Yes! WOHMing is so difficult. If your husband is around, put him in charge of washing bottles or something. It gets a little easier when they start sleeping better I think.
@josina: Boo!! I'm sorry!! I hope he feels better soon.
@whenoceansrise: I would put some vaseline on it just so the diaper doesn't stick to the cut. That's what you do while a circumcision is healing, so I'm guessing that would be good for this too.

@josina: poor babe I hope he recovers quickly!!!
@FaithFertility: Ryan's always been really fast! He can take a 4 oz bottle no prob so I assume he's just really efficient at the breast. Except before bed he goes on and on.

Granny took big brother for the weekend. He left at 2 today but R and I went to the mall and I got 2 new pairs of jeans (I don't fit in maternity but my nice jeans are not happening now). Then. I cleaned the house and took a shower and Ryan and I watched scandal- I hate to say but he is mesmerized by the tv. Putting him down a touch early and having dinner in peace with my husband. 1 is so hard the first time around but it feels so easy today!

@Adira: Awww, that really sucks. I hope someone just as awesome replaced her!
@winniebee: sounds nice and relaxing! H is mesmerized by the TV too; if we have it on, I have to constantly turn his head away so he's not staring at it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: totally normal! As they get older they get more efficient
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: awww nice day!!!!! G LOVES the TV too, her swing was kind of close and if I don't turn the swing away she is hooked.....I moved it away...because of this!
Enjoy your evening!!!

@winniebee: That's great that R slept so well last night! I hope you'll get the same thing tonight minus the toddler interruptions. Isn't it amazing how taking care of JUST a baby suddenly seems so easy? I was totally overwhelmed as a FTM and now I can't quite figure out why. Enjoy your dinner with your husband!
@josina: Poor E! I hope he's feeling better soon!
@FaithFertility: sleeping in 'til 8:30 sounds amazing!
@whenoceansrise: Your grandma must have been horrified! I agree with Adria - a little vaseline to keep the diaper from sticking until it heals is probably not a bad idea.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: Sounds like she's getting more efficient. Not such a bad thing! (J would still nurse for literally hours if I let him).
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: do you still feed at least one bottle each day over the weekend? I don't want to, but am afraid two days without bottle will make it a battle again?!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: I'm so sorry about the daycare teacher I'm sure that makes the transition so much harder!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: I actually only work part time (though I'm gone for 16 hours, so he literally goes 24 hours without nursing). Anyway - he's been going several days without a bottle because my shifts are not every day and he's done fine. My DH says J actually smiles now when he sees him coming with a bottle. I bet K will be ok!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: I remember being so overwhelmed by one and thinking how hard they were! Then when Logan came, whenever Xander was in daycare, Logan just seemed sooooo easy! Glad you're getting a little break and time to bond with your newest!
@snowjewelz: There are two brand new teachers in the Infant room, so I have no idea! I don't know them at all! But they keep misplacing Logan's bottle parts. And one of them can't button up his sleepers correctly at all! Like how difficult is it to line up all the buttons??? And the past two days when I've arrived, the top two buttons were just completely undone. It's not like he was hot, so WTF?? It looks stupid. I hope other people don't think I dropped him off looking so dumb!
@FaithFertility: Totally normal! Logan usually only does 7-8 minutes on one side and then 2-3 on the other (if he takes the other). They get very efficient as they get older.
@MrsF: My only consolation is that Logan wasn't actually there long enough to get used to her. I remember when Xander started at this daycare, a few months into it, our favorite teacher left, and I was DEVASTATED for Xander because he loved her sooooooo much! I cried so much for him, even though he was fine. At least I know Logan won't know the difference. But still... I'm bummed. She was so awesome with the babies. And Xander even still loved seeing her, so I'm sad for him that he won't see her anymore.

H has been awake for over 4 hrs and counting. He's nursed for almost an hr and a half of that. HALP.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: that's good to hear! I guess we will try no bottles for weekend see what happens on Mon!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: eek, I hope they get better! Misplacing your bottle parts is def really annoying tho!

Is there a growth spurt at 12/13 weeks? Logan just woke ipod screaming his little head off and now is eating. I haven't had to do a feed at this time in a while! What is going on???
persimmon / 1050 posts
@Adira: It sure seems like it. M wanted eat every hour or two tonight. The pediatrician told us to decrease the amount he ate in a sitting because of his reflux, but he wasn't having that, so we gave him more too keep him from crying.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@AngelicOne: Oh wow. I forgot about this spurt. It hasn't even been two hours and we're up again. This sucks.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Gahh! This is worse than when he was a newborn! Not an hour later and we're up again! Booo!!
persimmon / 1050 posts
@Adira: Booo! Hope you get some sleep eventually.
M is sleeping pretty well so far. He's only woken once to eat (which was his normal 11pm-ish feeding). He fought naps all afternoon & just needed quite a bit of food right before bed I guess.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
What is going on??? When Logan was a newborn, he'd just grunt a bit when he woke up hungry. Now he's screaming bloody murder like I haven't fed him all day!!

@Adira: teething? MY friends baby had her first tooth @ almost 4 months
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@FaithFertility: Hmm, if it was teething, would he be soothed back to sleep by nursing? This seems so early for teeth to me. Xander didn't get any until 7 months!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@Adira: uh last night we were up every 2 hrs and she was chugging milk too.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@theotherstark: welcome 12 week growth spurt?! Ahhh I hope he treated you alright last night
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
God I'm scared for next week. I do remember a crazy 12w spurt (documented in the baby book!). We have only just started getting more than 4h stretches in the last week I will cry if we regress next week!!
