@Adira: no clue, I just remember my friends DD having 2 teeth by 4 months and she was a hot mess, so tiny to have that go on...

Ahhh prepping now for 12 week spurt...I'm not a fan of those....lol

Ethan didn't have any 12 week regression but he was never sleeping as well as your babies!
His fever was down to 99.8 yesterday afternoon and haven't gotten up with him yet but his head feels back to normal. He slept 2 3 hr segments but woke up crying at 5 and has been on my chest since. I did buy some baby Vicks yesterday and put on his feet with socks so hopefully that helped. He's breathing fine through his nose yet at least.

@josina: glad he is starting to feel & breathe better!
E had some cluster feeding & more wakeups somewhere around 11 & 12 weeks too. i think it only lasted a day or so. i'm way bad at documenting stuff this time around, and it's funny that i can hardly remember what happened 2-3 weeks ago!

@winniebee: how did the one-kid night go?
@adira: staff turnover was the worst part of K going to daycare. she had 2-3 "primary" teachers during her first 2 months, and finally i requested that she be assigned to the one who had been there for 14 years, figuring she was least likely to leave (plus we really liked her). i know it's just part of the industry, and I loved having her in daycare for a lot of other reasons, but as a mom, it was tough to deal with

@KayKay: it was good! Went to bed too late of course! R had a typical night of 8-1, 130-5, 530-730.

@josina: so glad his temp went down and he is slowly doing a lil better! Hope he can fully recover soon!
Besides this growth spurt K has not slept good for a while now so this is just worse than bad lol

@snowjewelz: He just started doing a longer than 4 hour stretch a week ago and I'm very happy! We were on a every 2 or 3 hour for SO LONG. hope K gets back into a rhythm soon.

@winniebee: at least Ryan is progressing forward! Kara have me false hope before! I still think about the night she did 7 hrs and pray every night it comes back haha!

@snowjewelz: i'm prepared for him to regress at any moment. the whole first year is a series of progressions and regressions

I've been meaning to update that Ryan's spit up is the same (a lot) and he still gets uncomfortable after feedings....but I think the big picture is that he is overall better than he was 6 weeks ago. We've decided not to put him on Prilosec because the recent studies on it have shown that it isn't as benign as previously thought (a number of possible side effects for PPI drugs). Our GI doc said that he gives Prilosec in instances where the baby isn't gaining well (not Ryan) and refuses feeds (not Ryan) or is extremely uncomfortable/ inconsolable (not Ryan). However, he said that he would trial him on Prilosec because he was low birth weight and is a 5th percentile baby. To us, the fact that he is small isn't a good enough reason to put him on Prilosec if that is the only reason that he "qualifies". He will stay on Zantac until we see GI again in a few months.
@josina: Glad he is on the mend!!!!

@winniebee: I've been meaning to ask how he was doing. K's spit up has gotten worse lately. She will often spit up clear liquid nearly 2 hours after eating (typically eats every 3 hours). It's frustrating, but she's generally happy and gaining well. I hate to play experiments with formulas
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: ryandoes that too (clear hours after eating). Gi says it's normal....and that it likely will be done by 4-6 months....I hope it's sooner for both of us.

@winniebee: I agree with your choice; you know your son best! I hope it will start going away by itself as he gets older!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Poor Ryan. But I think you're making the right choice with regards to his medication. Hopefully things gets better for him as he gets older.
Day 2 of this shitty growth spurt. SMH.

@FaithFertility: That's an awesome stretch! Keep it up kiddo!
Logan just slept 4 hours!!! Maybe the worst of this growth spurt is behind us?
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Kara somehow did 5?! But she had been up since 4pm and slept at 8. Maybe I should start canceling her last nap?! W

@Adira: these days I'm nervous to take anything as a norm lol!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@snowjewelz: I agree! These babies are completely unpredictable!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I am with you, we were at my mom's today with family so her napping was awful today when we got home she feel asleep from 4-6 and took another cat nap at 6:30-7 and still went to bed at 8 ??? I thought if they napped bad they slept bad? I was nervous last night because she never sleeps so much past 4
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: right? You would think she would go to bed later or wake up earlier lol!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: hope it's over!
@FaithFertility: that's awesome!!
@snowjewelz: I give up trying to figure out whether longer awake time means more night sleep! I basically try to get him down every 1.5 hours and if the last one doesn't stick (or if he doesn't fall asleep in the carrier) so be it. Yesterday he took a long nap from 11-115 but then only 15 mins at 230! And another 10 mins at 4! But then he slept in his car seat 6-7 and went to bed at 8 and did 8-130, 2-530 and then was up with spit up for awhile but did 630-9!

@winniebee: I know.. I really just drive myself crazy lol. I am sooo happy Ryan is doing so good, even with reflux!

Dealing with an extra fussy baby today. No idea what's wrong with him!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@whenoceansrise: oh no! I hope its only for day time and not night!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Me too! He was pretty fussy this evening, but he's also sick, so I think that was why. I just hope he lets me sleep tonight...
@whenoceansrise: Mine's extra fussy too. Hope they both feel better soon.

Ryan has a 101 fever and since he is under 3m and since it's Sunday we got sent to the ER. He was acting normally just was hot and his bro is sick so I checked his temp. Hopefully it's just a cold. :(. I'm here now with him and my husband is home with the toddler.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: ohhh no, praying it is just a cold and you go home!!! Get better R!!!!!

@winniebee: oh no! Hope you guys are sent home soon, and he is feeling better

@winniebee: oh no. Poor sick babies. Ethan's fever got up to 101.9 on Thursday night/ Friday morning and was back to normal by Saturday, hopefully it is short lived! Now we're just dealing with a nasty cold.
