I'm 32.5 weeks. Up until now I've had no complications. Today I felt a decrease in movement and decided to come into the hospital. They admitted me for overnight. Baby's heartbeat looks good but they are seeing what they call variable decelerations which means every so often the heart rate dips lower than they'd like to see and then immediately goes back up which could indicate distress. They aren't concerned enough to deliver me yet... I haven't felt baby move since this morning. Has anyone felt a similar lack of movement and had everything turn out okay?

Yes! At 28 weeks, I hadn't felt much movement, so I went to L&D and everything was fine. I ended up delivering on my due date. Hoping your LO gets to cook longer!

With my first I stopped feeling her move much after 30 weeks. They would hook me up to the monitor every apt, and around 34 weeks they told me there were no variations in the heart rate which can indicate distress and to prepare for possible delivery. I was freaking . Another hour on the monitor and heart rate started to improve. They also did a quick ultrasound to double check. After that I still didn't feel a ton of movement but my monitor readings all checked out fine and I delivered at 39 weeks.

@mrscobee: The last 3-4 weeks I went into L&D for ultrasound and stress tests because I would go hours with out feeling her move
She had NO MORE ROOM
They kept telling me all was ok but my AF was low so that scared me
I went back every time I felt unsure
4 days overdue and DD was H&H -

I was admitted to the hospital around 32 weeks for bleeding. Baby kept having decels that had every nurse on the floor running into my room freaking out. They finally got me on ultrasound and it turned out LO was squeezing her umblical cord (apparently they do this to practice grip) and cutting off her own blood supply! Very scary but turned out to be totally normal.

Hang in there. You did the right thing by going in! Remember you are in the safest place and they are monitoring you and baby closely in case anything happens. Best wishes for you!

I think sometimes it is due to them having no room, and/or they are on the cord or the cord is wrapped around something... When I was getting induced, DD's heart rate was erratic too and at one point it stayed so low that I was prepped for emergency c-section, but she ended up okay. When I delivered her, ended up her cord was wrapped around twice so that was the reason her hr was weird.
