I'm not sure what happened but around the time we had LO2 (just turned 2) DH and I lost patience for hosting each other's parents as house guests. We both like and respect our in laws. They're great with the kids, lovely people, and don't do anything extraordinarily irksome but we both get super close to losing our minds very quickly.

I'm not sure what's going on so I don't know how to fix it. Its obvious that there's tension in the house. My parents think my husband is depressed or divorcing me but he's only withdrawn and sullen like that when they're around. I'm sure my in laws think I'm the worlds biggest bitch.

Things seem to be better on their turf, probably because we're on vacation and can relax instead of balancing work and drop off and extra cooking/cleaning. I try to delegate and outsource as much as possible when they visit but that hasn't taken the pressure off enough.

Has anyone felt this way and turned it around?
