I don't know why but I never believed in Santa. When I was a kid, as young as 4, I distinctly knew that my parents bought gifts, wrapped them when we were sleeping, and put them out for us.
Did you believe in Santa? How old were you when you figured out the truth?

My parents never had us believe in Santa. We put stockings up, but we always knew that my dad and mom filled them.

No. My parents told us from the very beginning that santa was a fictional character. the focus of xmas in our home was about the birth of Christ

@mrbee: ha ha ha so did MY Santa! We ignored that even after we knew he didn't exist. Santa still got cookies and milk and a carrot for Rudolph until I moved out.

Yes I did. I dont' remember when I figured it out though....
My parents where really good about our santa presents though! Changed up their handwriting, used different wrapping paper just for those presents (which they hid and I never saw when I wrapped presents), things like that. They were pretty clever

I didn't believe in Santa. My mom told me that I said "There's no way a fat man can climb down the chimney. That's stupid." But I COMPLETELY believe in the tooth fairy and was so excited when she would put money under my pillow after a tooth fell out. Go figure.

My parents never told us about Santa. When we were older they told us about Saint Nicholas and how the Santa kids believed in was based on him.

My mom used to say Santa gave me a gift because I was a good Jewish girl, just to keep me from spoiling it for the other kids. But that didn't last long.

My parents told me about Santa and it was about the birth of Christ. (grew up Catholic) Then I learned there was no Santa and I was okay. Then I learned that the church actually stole the holiday from the Pagans and it started my journey to get away from the church.
I've told my daughter about Santa. I love seeing her believe in that magic. She is waiting to go sprinkle oatmeal on the lawn and she can't wait to put cookies out.

I never did. My mom told me the truth from day one, but I never spoiled it for other kids. I would play along and be like "Suckers."
