Ugh, LMW is in the middle of yet ANOTHER sleep regression. To be honest, it's not too bad-- she goes down for bed just fine after a week or two of screaming every bedtime and us having to sit in her doorway. So the only issue left is that she wakes up super early, stands in her crib and screams. Oh, she turned 2 in July so she's 26 months.

She's been doing this for WEEKS now, so this means EVERY night she wakes us up around 4am and we have to do SOMEthing. Sometimes we go and sit in her room and she'll fall back asleep. Sometimes we bring her into our bed and she'll fall back asleep. Sometimes Wagon Sr. takes her for an EARLY morning run and she'll fall asleep in the stroller. But most times she WON'T fall back asleep no matter what we do, so it's a matter of entertaining her for a few hours before the family is up for the day.

Everyone is suffering from lack of sleep. If we let her scream for more than 10 minutes or so (and she will NOT stop, trust me) she wakes up Wagon Jr. which just makes the situation so much worse. (We HAVE let her scream for up to an hour but she does not go back to sleep... she ends up vomiting.) Best case scenario, we go to her REALLY quickly and get her to lie back down calmly and she's still in a sleepy state, so she'll fall back asleep within 15 minutes. Worst case scenario, she won't calm down no matter what we do so we just get up for the day. Typical schedule: she wakes at 4am, we struggle to get her back down from 4-5:30am, we're up for the day.

Last night the wakeup was at 3:30am. I don't even know what happened. I think Wagon Sr. got her to fall back asleep around 5:30, and he sat in the chair in her room. He tried several times to sit in her doorway like we usually do and sneak out, but she kept checking to see if he was still there, and when he wasn't, she'd stand and scream and it all started all over again.

Obviously we're not first timers at this but we're pretty much at wits end with her now. I'm ready to do something drastic-- either switch her crib out into a toddler bed, or put a bed in her room and have one of us go over and sleep in there with her when she has her morning wakeup. We haven't done either because we know it's a slippery slope with sleeping on a bed in her room, and she hasn't tried to climb out of her crib yet... but I just do NOT know what else to do.

I am open to ANY suggestions!!!
