We just went to our birth class, which also covered a lot of really great postpartum topics, including the baby blues. I loved the presenter and felt like she really explained this in a no-blame, totally normal, no stigma sort of way. She said most moms experience it to some degree, that it's due in large part to the hormonal changes that happen after giving birth and that the most important thing is to have support while transitioning into motherhood.

I mentioned it to my mom and she said that when she had kids, the baby blues didn't exist, that it was something new they've dreamed up and that because I'd heard about it and was told i'd experience it, that I'd convince myself I had them regardless. Thankfully DH is my main support person postpartum and he attended the class with me and understands that it's hormonal and how he can help if I do experience the baby blues.

Did you experience the baby blues? How long did it last? What helped you get through?
