I've read a lot of parents say that their child was EXHAUSTED after all day K! DS1 has been in full day (830-330) jr. K at his montessori school all year and I'm wondering if there will be a difference in how tired he is? I'm guessing yes, b/c of the fact that he will be taking the bus....and it will be a different environment.
Was this your experience? Even if your kiddo had been in all day daycare/prek?

She was initially, but it didn't last more than 2 weeks. We're doing a bilingual program so it must've been tiring listening to a foreign language, too. We'll see what happens when DD2 starts in the fall!

Nope, the same. His bedtime has been 7:30 (lights out) for a long time.
It is true that he is extremely tired after school, which led to my decision not to enroll him in any after school activities.

Both DDs are always exhausted and ready for bed after full daycare days. I definitely notice less resistance from DD1 with bedtime since she has moved into pre-school.

I didn't see a noticible difference. But he was in full day daycare before and is actually in school a few hours less than daycare.

Nothing changed for DD. She was full of energy at pick up every day and goes to bed at the same time. I think we actually pushed her bedtime back by 30 mins because she's older now.

No, she still complains that she has trouble falling asleep. She would stay up reading until 9:30 or 10 most nights if we let her.

I hope so! He doesn't go to bed until 9:00-9:30 unfortunately but he still takes a nap at daycare so I think that's why. Kid hasn't taken a nap at home since 2.5 but at 5.5 naps at daycare! Sigh

No difference in sleep here either. I did notice that he comes home starving, but his sleep hasn't been affected.

Yup, he's been pretty tired, and I'm very strict about getting him in bed by 8, especially since he has to be up at 6:30. It manifests mainly as major crankiness/fatigue in the afternoon, and then he usually gets a second wind after dinner.

Yes. With a nap at age four she would be fighting bedtime until 8:30 or 9. Now she's asleep before 8 'most nights.

Good question -- I wondered this too! DD1 hasn't napped since 3y or so, has been doing full-day preschool 5 days a week, and won't have to get up any earlier for kinder (it doesn't start til 9:25a). So the only big change is that school will be new and (I assume) more academic, so she may be more emotionally tired as she adjusts?
I'll be interested to see what happens. She goes to bed at 8p, currently. I can't really see bedtime being much earlier than that, but I wouldn't complain if all kids were down by 730
