Anyone else DIYing costumes this year? What are you making?
Wesley's Peter Pan costume is store bought (he needed it for his dance recital) but I'm sewing oliver's "lost boy" fox costume.
For me and DH I'm making accessories for my Hook costume and adding lace to a maternity tank to make it more piratey. And I'm knitting a hat for DH's Smee costume.
So, how's everyone else doing?

But I'm probably not fully sewing anything, just tacking or using self-sticking felt. That way we can use the sweatshirt before/after Halloween.

I'm going to be Krang (I'm pregnant) and DH is going to be Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm DIYing both costumes but I'm running out of time!

DD1 will be Sophia the 1st ... and a pumpkin... and a ghost (not sure how all that will work, but that's what she's decided she wants). DD2 will be a cabbage patch kid.
DH and I are having a (adults only) Halloween party, and we will be Crown (DH) and Coca-cola (me). I bought some purple fabric and gold cording, and I will be adding the Crown logo to it. I bought a cheap Coca-cola dress for me, so we should be set.

DD1 is a pirate princess, so I bought a pirate girl costume and am making it more princess with a wand and crown. so pretty much store bought.
DD2 is a cabbage patch kid like the picture below. I need to make the box (bought the hat from a local lady who knits)

I'm making this for DD and I really hope she will agree to wear it for Halloween.
For the last month she wants to be a pumpkin, me to be a moon and DH to be a bat. I've never suggested DH and I needed costumes but she has other plans. She's 2.5

E's a unicorn, T's a dragon, and I'm the princess this year. I am still in the progress of making E's unicorn costume, but it's a hoodie and I sewed a glittery horn on and split the seams of the hoodie part open to stick in some rainbow fleece strips. I have to pull the skirt together soon-ish. It's purple knit with a very obnoxiously glittery skirt that will get EVERYWHERE

I'm making LO into Mickey Mouse, which really just involves me wanting to use the red shorts I bought on impulse at the end of the summer (to round up at Gymboree for coupon savings). I got some black tights and a black shirt at Target, and will figure something out for yellow shoes (or maybe just wear white ones she already has). The hardest part will be keeping ears on her head - the kid refuses to have anything on her head.

My version of DIY this year is pulling together store bought pieces. She's a tiger and I found a tiger hoodie at Crazy 8, and tiger tights at the Gymboree outlet, plus I found her a black tutu on Amazon and will paint whiskers and a nose on her face. That's sort of DIY right??

I'm making a Sadie a dinosaur costume, because she insists on being a "pink dyn-do-saur RAWR" this year. I'm just adding some scales to a cheap hoodie. Not terribly creative, but she will be excited.

I'm making Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes. Basically just long sleeve red shirt with a printed iron on and red sweat pants. The big thing is making the wigs by making pom poms out of yarn and sewing onto a hat. My younger lo won't keep it on so I have to figure something else out.

I just finished up my son's costume last night using the same pattern you posted @Navy_Mommy as a baseline. Made many modifications to turn "fox" into "dragon".
I'm hoping he likes it enough to wear it - first fitting didn't go over well

DS is 1, and is just on the verge of walking...I hope he can walk before the end of the month!
He will be a dinosaur (zip up hoodie with a tail that attaches like a velcro belt), and we will be from Jurassic Park

DD1 is going to be Daniel Tiger. I got her a red hoodie that I'm going to sew a trolley patch on and tiger pants form crazy8. Got tiger ears and tail and need to get a pair of red converse or knock offs.
Baby sister is going to be baby Margaret. I found a dress on eBay that has that cute yellow plaid collar. With a pink cardigan over and a yellow daisy on tiger ears and it will be perfect.
I'm going to be mom tiger and I got a nurse scrub on eBay. Add blue jeans and tiger ear/tails and we're done!

I am making baby boy a Olaf costume (onesie and hat) while big sister is going in a store bought Elsa dress. I thought about DIY Elsa but couldn't find anything close enough to be satisfactory or affordable enough to make it worth my while!

Started DH's Smee hat.This is the pattern. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/graham-2 DH picked the hat so he could wear it after Halloween as well. I told Wes he could pick any red yarn and he picked a "tweed" yarn lol. It actually looks pretty awesome.

We are doing a DIY witch costume for E because I hate buying pre packaged costumes. I found a black dress for her and am buying a witches hat, purple striped tights, and a broom.

My 2.5 year old decided a month ago that she wants to be a horse. So I'm sewing ears and a mane to a brown hoodie, and a tail to brown leggings.
We are doing a parade with her, so I think we will just go as cowboy/cowgirl.

@blackbird: have you tried spraying the skirt with aerosol hairspray to keep the glitter under control? Sometimes that helps!
