No grocery delivery but I'll be picking up my first order today. Hope it goes well!

I have done it a few times- usually when we need a lot of stuff (like after a trip when I've purposely used up all the fresh food before hand). It's pretty great! Ours is something like $6.95 for delivery if it's over a certain dollar amount or $9.95 if it's under- we always go over. It's great to not have to carry the groceries up the stairs in our condo!

I usually tip a few dollars, really depending on how much cash I have. Oh, and they do take manufacturers coupons for mine. No issues with quality for me. My friend has gotten milk or yogurt that expires really soon and calls and they refund it (so, like yogurt that expires within a week, not already expired).

We have, but I don't find it that life changing. I prefer to select my own produce and meats, I like to make sure the eggs aren't cracked, etc.

I think it works really well for large events/parties, though, when you're ordering very specific things in large quantities, like beverages, hot dogs, buns, chips, etc.

I live outside the delivery area of the local store, so I order mine online and pick them up at the store. I don't do it often, but it is excellent. They have an option to substitute if one of the items you ordered isn't on the shelf (like they ran out), so one time I got a different kind of chorizo than I wanted, but other than that it's been great.

I was soo tempted at the end of my pregnancy and then during maternity leave but just never pulled the trigger! It's just not all the same stuff I'd get at the store.

No, I like going by myself or with the kids.

I don't have my regular groceries delivered but I do get a weekly organic box delivery. In it we have fruit and veg for the week, but I tend to still buy meat/dairy and dry goods at the grocery store.

I've been using Peapod since I returned to work from LO's maternity leave. It's been a lifesaver. I schedule deliveries for when I'm working from home or on the weekend. LO loves when Peapod comes and delivers groceries. I like that it keeps previous orders in a big list to just check off what I want this week. I build orders over time too like adding grape jelly to the next order on the iPhone app.

ETA: We also have Instacart (which delivers goods from Cosco and other stores) and Deliver Locally (delivers donuts and other stuff from specialty stores too).

Always! I'm a total delivered groceries convert. It's very common here, all the supermarkets do it, and it's quite cheap. Because I'm a SAHM, I can have them delivered during the work day hours, so the delivery charge is only £1 ($1.50 USD), and of course we don't tip over here. Evening delivery charges are £3 usually ($4.50 UsD) so that's still super reasonable as well, and they deliver seven days per week in one hour time slots between 7 am and 11 pm. It is seriously the most convenient thing in the world!

I shop from one of two stores and have had nothing but good experiences - they pick out food with the latest expiration dates possible and pick out produce exactly how I would. You can also make notes on each item if you want (ie pick yellow bananas, or pick kiwi fruit that are nearly ripe etc). I LOVE it and it is so worth the £1 per delivery it costs me. Also, they save your shopping lists and will automatically add your staples like milk, bread etc if you click the link.

Seriously, I can't rave about online grocery shopping with delivery enough!

We use fresh direct pretty regularly! It's good for us because we can build the online shopping list together but don't have to use our family time actually making the trip-- that way fewer things get forgotten. And we're in NYC so don't have a car, it can be heavy to schlep everything. The quality is usually great. Of course I'd rather pick it myself, but they have a star rating system for produce that says what's good right now which is pretty good for gauging quality

Interesting. No I'm too cheap to have them delivered. And we like to get out of the house. I should pay someone to write me a grocery list though. I always attempt to meal plan and write a list and come home and I don't have anything I need haha.

Yep, we get ous delivered every couple of weeks. I hate spending time in supermarkets. We also live in an apartment building with no elevator... I don't mind forking out a small amount of money to save myself a little hassle. They normally pick out good stuff for us but there have been occasions when I've wondered if the picker actually ever cooks or shops for themself... You cannot replace my wholegrain flour with white flour, c'mon!

How does this work? Do you pick specific brands? Can you see all the prices listed online or something? How do you know what's on sale?

I use fresh direct for everything except most of my produce. I agree that I like to pick that out myself we have a grocery store here with really good stuff. I also tend to buy my produce as I need it since I'm always afraid that I will forget about it and it will go bad.
For Me, especially during the winter and having to walk everywhere, the delivery has totally been worth it. Especially for heavy items that I can't carry home easily like bottled water etc.

I haven't tried regular grocery delivery, but I'm sure it will be a good idea once the LOs are born.

Pre-baby, I have tried meal delivery services where they send you recipes and the ingredients to make them. I've tried Plated, Blue Apron and recently, Hello Fresh. I like Hello Fresh the best so far. The recipes they send are pretty good. Plated had a great selection and the pictures looked great but it wasn't that appetizing when we cooked it. Blue Apron is good but they don't have a big selection to chose from and most of their recipes were okay. Hello Fresh is still at the top of my list. It's about $10-$11 per person per meal. So for 3 meals a week that would feed 2 people, it would cost about $60-$65 with free shipping.

We do PeaPod ALL the time! I don't mind grocery shopping myself but it takes me forever, plus the fourth floor walk up. So ordering leaves DH and I will more time together instead!

@Mrs.Someone: i tried a trial of amazon fresh, but then they wanted me to sign up for the $300 yearly charge and i skipped that. i'm a regular amazon prime user, so did they change it?

@birdofafeather: They did change something lately, but I'm not sure of the details because DH handles it all. I know we didn't pay $300 though! Are you the owner of your Prime account? That makes a difference.
