I'm not brave enough to go to the mall or other shopping outlets on Black Friday! The deals are getting so crazy though that one day I'll have to check it out. I've never been though... have you?

Yes! The deals were pretty amazing and we went in the afternoon, when the crowds weren't bad.

I went to Target and Costco for regular purchases!

I went out at 7pm and it wasn't busy at all. Bought some $8 pajamas

We went out and bought dish soap, because we ran out yesterday! #thanksgivingfail

Just a quick outing to our local mall - was so packed and the deals weren't that great. I picked up a couple cheap things at Old Navy but nothing worth venturing out for. Online shopping is better.

Mostly online. We did go to Target because their giftcards were 10% off if you buy before noon (found out later that could've been done online too), and Costco for our usual shopping.
We did go to the mall though, but only to kill time and ride the carousel. Had no idea it was going to be as insane as it was - people were shoulder to shoulder trying to get through!! I've never been to a mall on black friday before... ironic that the first time I go it's with my kids.

Eh not intentially. We did a little shopping while on vacation in SFO but not anywhere that had big crouds or sales. I did snag a kureg online at Target.

We don't have Thanksgiving here but, the last few years, retailers have done the Black Friday thing and it gets crazy. There were actual riots yesterday, people fighting in the aisles, Police called by terrified staff....... Is that how it gets in your part of the world? If that's Black Friday, I want no part of it. I'd rather pay full price.

No, but I shopped online. Good deals on stuff I needed for gifts.

Sort of. We didn't do any camp out or 3am madness, but we went to the mall later in the day, Old Navy, Carter's, and Coach had their entire stores 50% off, so LO got a few sets of pjs, some pants, and a Christmas outfit

Not to shop but met a friend there, seemed like a good idea as a place to keep busy w DS. We thankfully found parking right away and it wasn't unmanageable. Bought eyeliner and friend bought duplos for Ds.
Shopped online last night for some deals on clothes.

I bought some clothes/accessories for the kids and bought a chair for me. All online!

I went to Costco to check prices on something I bought at 9am. Then went to Kohl's to grab a down throw. Parking was easy at both locations but Kohl's had a long line at the registers.
Stayed away from the mall.

No, I hate the concept. And I dislike shopping under normal conditions so there is no way I would subject myself to BF.

I actually did, for the first time ever, to buy a TV. We went to Best Buy and Target in the early afternoon and had no problem...it was like a busy Saturday but not nuts or anything. I also did a bit of online shopping.

I picked up some great finds on zara, they rarely have sales and I love the fit of the pants on my son. Plus I needed another pair of suspender pants in our closet . So adorable.

I went to target to get out of the house. It was empty and I didn't see any great deals. I didn't have anything in mind to shop for, but none of their toys were on sale and we weren't looking for any new electronics. I picked up a few books and something Frozen, then grabbed coffee and went home. I did the rest of my shopping online!

Yup! The outlet malls here ooemed at 6pm- which I think is a little ridiculous TBH. Back when I worked retail, I worked at 10pm, and I didn't mind that. Anyway... So we stopped by the mall for a couple hours after our family get together and yeah it was busy but living where we live in MN means that it doesn't get nearly as busy here as in many parts of the country. I also went to target and did some shopping online. A lot of my Christmas shopping is nearly done!
I'm most excited about these. I haven't had shoes that are good for the cold and snow since I was a kid, and these were 50% off

Same here. Never been brave enough to go. Plus, I value my sleep, especially after having kids. Now that we live overseas there's no black friday here so I just look to see what's online. Still pretty exciting if you ask me!

We went out around lunchtime on Friday and got all of LOs gifts plus a purse for MIL. We didn't get that great of deals, but at least got a big chunk of shopping done. My mom went out thanksgiving night and got some pretty awesome stuff for cheap!

We used to do Target, Home Depot, old navy, and a couple other stores every year, but haven't gone since we had Liam. We would never go super early, around 7, and it wouldn't be too crowded. It was fun! This year I just bought a few things online.

I did but not really on purpose! Found 2 new car seats for 45.00 each!

The two years that I lived in NY, I drove back home to Canada for the long weekend, and was always struck by the massive lines at the border. Now that I live in Ontario again, I find it's not worth it for the questionable deals and crowds, even though more and more stores here are doing Black Friday sales. I feel the same for Boxing Day (Dec 26th), our big sale day of the year. My sanity and personal well-being is worth much more to me than $50 off something I probably didn't really need anyway!

Sort of? We forgot it was Black Friday and went to target. It wasn't too crowded, though, and there were some good sales. 40 percent off all apparel so I bought a couple things. I bought a light coat, and of course today it's supposed to be close to 80, lol. No way I'd go to the mall near us though -- that place is a zoo on a normal day!

Just went to Hallmark, Home Depot, Target, and Michael's, later in the morning. Mostly just needed to pick up some regular items (diapers, wrapping paper). I did get some great deals online though!

@Bao: safety 1st convertibles. We have been looking for some so couldn't beat that price!

I didn't go yestersay but I did go out this morning. I got a bunch of shopping but the only thing I got on sale was some chocolates for my grandparents and a pair of leather leggings for me.

I bought a couple of rugs online. I'm hoping they look nice in person!

I went grocery shopping.
I was looking for Patagonia jackets for myself and DH, and I found them online for 30% off plus 10% back through ebates. We're pretty excited for them to come in the mail next week.

I did some online shopping, and only stopped in at two restaurants to get some awesome giftcard deals. Neither had a line, and both were on our way to other things- otherwise, I probably would have skipped them.
Purchases:
great deals on giftcards to grocery store, Chipotle, 3 other restaurants we regularly frequent, and Lowes (we have a huge renovation ahead)
Timbuk2 messenger bag and wallet
tons of shirts from Gap (some will end up being returned)
2 shapewear tanks
several new sweaters for work
cowboy boots
a chandelier I have had my eye on for several years- I didn't even plan on buying it, but it was WAY cheaper than the best deal I had seen previously. I was planning on getting it within the next 6 months, and it works out great since it is backordered for 2 months.

Only online - hoping Cyber Monday brings some good deals too - hoping to get some christmas shopping done.

Yes - just a few stores and it wasn't crowded at all. Wished I had more time!
pomegranate / 3791 posts
Nope! I spent 7 years getting cussed out by customers over doorbuster TVs. Now that I don't have to work it I enjoy staying home and relaxing.
