Most of the time that's the way we operate. But sometimes one person does both if the other person is occupied with things like bath time and bed time.

errr. i wish! i don't mind cooking, but i hate cleaning up after. once my butt sits down to eat, i don't feel like being productive anymore, lol. if he offers to clean up, usually i find a sink full of dishes, not even rinsed or put in the dishwasher. he likes to let them sit in there until he can't find the sink, there are only two of us, that can take a while! then do 'em all at once. yucky. BUT in his defense, he cleans gross things that i could never touch.

That's not our policy but that's how it usually works out!

We used to. But DH ends up doing majority of cooking and majority of dishes. It just works for us since he gets home from work 2 hours earlier than I do and I'm usually tending to our son & putting him to bed while he cleans up after dinner.

Yup-- I cook, he cleans. It's nice when I cook in a crock-pot because there's less to do for both of us!

That's sort of the rule, although my husband usually helps me cook and I *try* to help him out with the dishes too. He's good at doing the dishes and doesn't seem to mind.

No. I feel (most days) good about the division of labor in our house, but it's definitely more of a big picture split than a 50/50 division of duties. I am responsible for pretty much everything kitchen-related, although DH and I often do the dishes together. And that is 100% okay with me. We do, but it doesn't always happen that way. Usually I cook and then after we eat I put away the food while DH loads the dishwasher.

He loads the dishwasher, I put the dishes away. This happens regardless of who cooks.

Though when I cook, I do try and be mindful and rinse off my stuff to get it ready for him.

That's generally how it works in our house. When there's lots of dishes, though, we both do them.

Sometimes. But on a daily basis I cook and clean up, then set up baths and bedtime and pack everything in their lunches except the fruit. Wagon Sr. bathes them and puts them to bed and finishes the lunches.

Sort of. I usually prep our meals, and my husband comes home and cooks, as it relaxes him. We take turns with dishes, or split them as cleanup usually aligns with one of us bathing with DD, or getting her ready for bed.

This was our rule pre-baby. I used to cook and DH would clean up after. Now I tend to the baby while DH throws something together and cleans up. Occasionally I cook but definitely not as often as I used to.

Yes - "He {or she} who cooks, does not clean." Unless of course she is feeling quite generous.

Yes, I cook and he does the dishes. Since my husband doesn't cook I haven't done the dishes since we started dated 6 years ago.
