Yes, through my husband's company. It's awesome. I definitely get our money's worth and so does he, since he has terrible teeth and needs to have a lot of work done.

My husband and I have it. We did not get it for our daughter this time because visits were cheaper than a year's worth of insurance for her.

Yes, through my company. I've used it quite a bit this year. I was so glad we had dental insurance when DS1 (barely 3 at the time) knocked out his front tooth at school as well.

Yes, for all 3 of us and I pay the premium for it.
My rationale is I guess I rather get the routine cleaning to lessen the chances of needing major work done?

For just cleanings, it doesn't pay for itself. But for more intensive work, we benefitted for sure.

We are 'shopping' right now and with one plan offered through work (we would pay all premiums) it would pay for itself for cleanings/exams/xrays for 4 of us plus my DH needs his wisdom teeth out yet.
Problem is, there isn't enough interest at work for us to actually get this plan.

We both have it separately through our employers. Mine is paid for entirely by me. DH's is partially subsidized by his employer. What we pay in premiums per year is less than what we would pay in cash for cleanings/x-rays. Every couple of years, we seem to need some work done.

Yes, the insurance is part of the health benefit package.

DH's work covers 80%, so that's the only reason it's worth it! otherwise, it has always been cheaper for us to pay cash pricing for cleanings, xrays, etc.. We haven't had to pay cash for cavities though and as my kiddos get bigger, i'm sure that it would pay for itself even if we had to pay the full rate.

I've already maxed mine out this year with a root canal, crown and cleanings. So this year it's been worth it!

I don't because I'm on graduate student health insurance. Dh has it through work and is going to add dd and I during his next open enrollment period. I paid out of pocket this summer for a cleaning and 2 fillings and it was over 1k

yes - works pays part if it
I pay $50 a month for 2 adults and 4 kids coverage.
no OOP costs for cleanings or x-rays
Well worth it!!

Definitely for the whole family. DH's work pays part of the premium. All preventative care and xrays are covered at 100%. DH and I both have tendencies towards gum disease, so we both get extra cleanings each year. We haven't needed any major work in a while, but I wouldn't want to delay care trying to save up money. E has gone twice a year since he was two. Good oral health maintenance is a good lesson to teach young.

Yep, for the whole family once eligible. This past year, I covered myself and DS #1. With annual enrollment coming up, I'll add my husband to it. It covers cleanings and other work to a point. For us and our bad teeth, it's worth it.

Yes, but I work for a dental insurance company. It's just me and dh on it now, but I'll probably add family coverage either for open enrollment or when lo2 is born.
@josina: if you can't get dental through work and are looking for individual coverage let me know and I can send you my company's info!

Yes and we need it. My husband has terrible teeth and already got a few teeth recapped and went from silver to porcelain, thanks to my insurance. He's had some fillings and other stuff. Our cleanings are totally covered and then other work is partially covered, but up to about 80% and that stuff is pricey, so it's worth it. My payment is only $28 a month for all 4 of us.

Yes through DH's work. Admittedly, I don't know the cost but his company is very good about subsidizing the premiums so for the 4 of us that are on it, I'm sure it's worth it!

Yes! We have it for the whole family. It's $30 a month and covers 100% of cleanings and a good portion of any dental work. It's been worth it so far.

Our kids get free dental and orthodontic care per a bartering agreement between my husbands practice and a neighboring dental practice. We'd have to get dental on our own for adult coverage... since neither of us has had a cavity in a decade weve decided to just pay oOp for cleanings for now because the cost of insurance wasn't worth it. I will admit it freaks me out because I'm pretty risk adverse but the cost was crazy for not great coverage

The insurance offered through my work is not cost effective. You'd have to get tons of work done every year for it to be worth the premiums paid.
In my state health insurance covers preventative care for kids so we do have that for my daughter.
