We have white, DH doesn't want stainless steel but I do in our next home. So we will see who wins, I think it is a trend that will stay around for a while.

I told him we could compromise with those Slate LG appliances I've seen on Pinterest, I think those look so sharp!

We have stainless, but I haaaaaaate cleaning them. They're instantly smudged again. I think they look good when they're clean.

We have two stainless and one white, and I like the look of the stainless. However, I'm really loving the new LG line that looks classic.

We have all stainless. That is what was already in the house when we purchased. I would have been fine with black or white appliances.

We do and it seems to blend into the kitchen pretty well! There's even a stainless steel backsplash behind the cooktop, which makes cleaning splatters much easier.

I love the look of stainless and wouldn't want anything else but I just wish they were easier to keep looking nice and clean.

@coopsmama: totally agree. We have all stainless, and they look great when they are clean, which is about 10% of the time

I love stainless, but I have all black appliances (except for our white fridge) I don't think stainless is feasible in a house with 2 dogs, that touch everything with the noses, and hopefully LO's in the near future!

yes I love them!!! Every now and then I use Bar Keepers friend on them and they sparkle..... until my kids rub their hands all over them

SS - our house had brand new white appliances when we purchased it but I really wanted SS. The white would have clashed with our kitchen reno which has espresso coloured cabinets.

@PermaStudent: I'm pretty sure ours are only clean in the 5 minutes following cleaning. My toddler seems to always touch them with his grubby hands that are normally sticky or grimy from snacks. Bleh!

Here the trend is to build the appliances into the cabinets so you usually don't see the fridge or dishwasher. Our cabinets are white and hide the fridge and dish washer, but our oven is stainless. I like the look now, but I also wonder how well it will age.

all stainless. i like stainless or white, not a fan of black appliances, they're fine in other people's kitchens, just not a look i'm drawn to.

@mrsjyw: If there is nothing with them, i'm not sure if i'd bother. But i know buyers usually a make a big deal out of them when house hunting. We had black appliances at our old house and they were fine. I hate the smudges on our stainless steel appliances, and even more so that i can't put magnets on the fridge!

@chopsuey: I love glass door fridges! I wish my leftovers were better looking, my fridge is always a disaster.

I love glass door fridges too - ever since I first saw one in "Three Men and a Baby" (yes! That long ago!)
We're also in the market for new appliances for our soon-to-be built home. I'm afraid of them tho, that would require a level or organization that I don't have. And an at-least weekly cleaning. Mama can't do it.

We have stainless, smudge free but I still have to use that special cleaner on them every week or they look terrible. If yours function then I'd leave them be.

I love the look of stainless but I think it's a trend. It's been the popular thing for about 10 years now, so I feel like at some point it will start to look dated. But there doesn't seem to be anything clearly taking over yet. There's a lot of black and white stuff out there, but the standard still seems to be stainless.
