I think top priority is whether you like top or front load. Then you have to see if there are options that you must have. I have LG washer & dryer and while I like them, I kinda wish I thought more about it b/c I'd love if my washer/dryer have timers!

We just bought the LG front loader model 3470 and matching gas dryer, they were the second biggest LG model they had at home depot. I havent used it yet because we are moving in next week, so I dont have a personal review but overall the LG was pretty highly rated.
I highly recommend getting pedestals. I didnt want to spend $250 per pedestal but my husband insisted because it is hard to constantly stoop over, especially as I am pregnant. And I am so glad he did because it is great to not bend over to get into the machines!

I have LG top loaders, for me I did not want a front loader, I don't like bending and I think they are louder (our laundry is on our second floor), so top loader it was, and it's still HE.

We have GE top loaders and really like them. They're quiet and huge.

I wish! Ours came with the house (it's a tiny pantry/laundry "section") and it's a stackable. I don't hate it, but I definitely don't love it, so I won't be recommending it. Getting envious of all the other ladies with awesome W/Ds!

We have a Whirlpool set of steam washer and dryer. We don't really use the steam function as much as we thought we would. But other than paying a little extra for it, we've liked our set so far.

We have a set of top loading Maytag bravos (same company as whirlpool) and we looove the set. We've had them about 2 years and they are still going strong.

We have front-loading Electrolux machines (with the 16 min. wash/dry cycles). I love them, even if front-loading machines are slightly higher maintenance (gotta keep that rubber seal bone dry!).

We have LG top-loaders that are amazing. I'm lazy and front-loaders start to stink too easily.

@Alivoo01: @sunny: Does it ever annoy you that you can't completely customize your cycle? Like there is no way to do a hot delicate cycle?
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@spaniellove: I can customize my cycles. I can't do hot in delicate but I can do warm*, warm, or cold and specify how fast I want the spin cycle to be.

I used to have LG HE front loaders, we moved in August and now I have Maytag Bravos commercial size top loading HE washer/dryer.
I so badly miss the delayed start on the front loaders, I used it all the time, and didn't even think about it when searching for our new set as I was so hell bent on HE top loaders.
I also missed the fact we ordered commercial size, not regular size and think it's why I hate the washer so much for diapers, it's taken a long time to figure out the right wash. I am pretty sure the insane load capacity will be awesome beyond diapers though!!
I loved our front loaders too, never an issue with stink (always kept washer door open when not in use) and cleaned great!

We have GE front loaders and they work fine. What I really love is that they have a timer, so I can put in a load and set it to run up to 12 hours later.
