i'm making a list of people to invite to DD's 2nd birthday because i need to figure out where/when/who soon. i have a huge list because i like to include everyone, but should i just whittle it down to the people with kids LO plays with? we had a big party for year 1 and thinking that we should probably tone it down for year 2. but i also like to include everyone!

@birdofafeather: We just kept it to our immediate family! Although actually, maybe we co-celebrated Olive's birthday with our neighbors whose son was born one day after Olive! Very low key and chill,

I am just inviting the friends in her playgroup plus my niece and nephew. It's a few days before Xmas and there's already enough to do around the holidays!
It seems like lots of people skip the 2nd bday party altogether anyway, but I think it will be nice to have a low key gathering!

We didn't have a first birthday party so his 2nd was really big.

For the 1st birthday, I cast the net pretty wide. For the 2nd birthday (on Sunday), I did LO's friends, my parents (it is at their house), and my grandma. I'm looking forward to a smaller party.

We don't have family here so a few close friends and their little ones (two babies and another toddler!).

We did a big first birthday party. So this year (today he's 2!) we are just doing a small family party with grandparents

We had a ridiculous first birthday (cultural tradition) so it's family only for her second. We'll add the friends back in at 3 when I think she will care more

We've kept his first/second birthdays to family and close friends. We've done this because we've held them at my parents' house. This year, we had a few friends with kids come to my parents' house. It was really nice. It was a kid centric party.
For his recent baptism, we had a lot of local friends and some family because we hosted it in our home. Most of our friends live in and near the neighborhood.

We had a good number at LO 2's 2nd because we skipped a party for her first.
We had a big party for LO 2 for her first so we will do a low key party for her second.

We had about 30 people total including kids. Close friends and Fam. I like to include everyone too. Doing it at a park and ordering food made it pretty easy.
