My Christmas Card list is growing and growing. We already have 120~ to send and I'm trying to whittle down, but it's hard! We make new friends and then send them a card! Does your card list grow or are you good at cutting them? Once they make our list, I pretty much leave them on forever.

Our list keeps growing, mostly because our families keep growing. Talk about a lot of money in postage lol. It's also why I can't spend crazy money on holiday cards, even though there are some designs I super love, because we have so many to send.

Our list is growing, too but luckily several of the people that I work with I will just hand deliver. Local friends will get them hand delivered, too. But, I still send out more than almost anyone I know. I need to go through and get my list organized and get our pictures done. I love sending cards and I am crazy and write a personal note on every single one.

Nope I actually cut a lot of people last year. If I send a card but don't get one, they got cut!

My list had kind of been a roller coaster. The first couple of years we sent them just to friends - they were funny cards. The list kept growing until the peak the year after we married. We essentially sent cards to everyone we invited to our wedding. Since then, I've slowly been narrowing our list, but I'm sure that once we have kids the list will grow again. I try to only send cards to people I've seen or talked to at least twice a year.
I also don't reciprocate just because we were sent a card. If someone sends me a card this year, I don't make sure I send them one next year.

I cut back A LOT the year we got married.
Between STDs, invites, and thank yous, I was SO SICK of addressing things by the time christmas rolled around! It didn't help that DH had a bazillion friends and family (500 were invited to our reception)
I think that first year we were married I only sent to immediate family, and then I waited to see who else we got cards from and put things right in the mail to them. I kept my google doc from the wedding and keep adding columns for christmas each year and keep track of who we send to and who we get cards from. It's grown slowly a bit in the last couple years, but I think we're still down to around 50-80.

I cut a good 20 people off my list this year. It was simply getting excessive. I'm down to 51 now.

I add and take away every year, so it stays around the same number. No where near 120 though. Girl, you popular.

I'm so impressed with all of your lists! Every Christmas I plan to send cards out... Guess how many times I've actually done it.

Sooooo I'm the worst, I send out about 15 to parents, siblings, grandparents, best friends. Then I only send them back to people that send them to me. Their address is right there, and I have them stamped and ready to go in the next day's mail. It's kind of cheating, but in the past we sent out 100+ and only got a little more than half back. So I order 50 and just send greeting cards back if we run out before the end of the month.

I cut my list this year! So far, went from 60 to 35ish.

I've done good about keeping it to 75, that means some distant family members not getting them then I'm fine with that.

Wow, I thought my card list was excessive at 30. I can't imagine 125!
Anyway, to answer the OP's question, I did cut a few people off my list this year. I'm bitter about how it went down, but it is what it is and ultimately our lives are better without these people in them.

@youboots: i don't really care about getting one back per say but i do try to send one to people if they send to us... i know a lot of friends that don't send cards at all, but i keep sending to them.

@birdofafeather: I've done photo cards a few times, and I'll usually only order a few and send them to immediate family, and then send regular cards (with maybe a regular photo printed if I know they'd want one) to the rest.
Though this year, I got a groupon for picaboo cards and I think those 50 cards were cheaper than most regular greeting cards.

@MaryM: i'm a photographer, so i always do a photo card.
i just design it myself and then print through my pro lab. but it's a lot of work and i wish i could just get a nice design. mine are usually pretty simple!

120! I only bought 60. You can skip us if you need to :). My list does keep growing, but my family is pretty small. I still give out lame folding cards to work people who I'm not close to.
