I've been lucky in that I get along well with my in-laws! We're visiting them now and life is so different with their help... I even took a nap yesterday!

Yep. MIL and I had issues when we first got married cuz of her overbearing tendencies, but since DH's big talk about boundaries with her...and the birth of DS, our relationship is much more balanced and I enjoy spending time with them.

I love my MIL! She is the best.
I'm neutral on my FIL. He wasn't in DH's life much. I've only met him once.

Tolerate them! They are nice people, we just have NOTHING to say to each other and they are awkward around R. I am glad they are 4 hours away and we see them a handful of times a year. Going to visit next weekend and I am not looking forward to it at all.

My FIL is a little weird, but he cares about us so much and would do anything for us, and that is worth my love in my books!

I love them! My MIL just arrived to stay with us until Monday and help celebrate LO's birthday. There may even be dinner waiting for me when I get home. She cooks and cleans and is fun! I have to get her to make me her famous meatloaf on Sunday 
My FIL and his wife are awesome. And they're even awesomer for living near Disney.
DH's Grandma and Aunt are the closest in-laws to us (but still far away in Jerz) and I love them, too. I text with his Aunt almost every day.

I love them - I just wish there was less of a language barrier because I would love to talk to my MIL about deeper things. She's such a nonjudgmental and nurturing mom!
@mrbee: you guys should move out here or convince them to move out there!! That would be the life.

my MIL brings out a rage in me i never knew i had, it frightens me. FIL is a terrible person, but usually leaves me alone, so i'm good with that. as long as they keep their crazy to themselves, we can get along, that has proven to be quite the challenge though.

I tolerate them but FIL and MIL still like to think they can run DH's (and by extension, mine too) life despite the fact that he is an independent married adult and parent, which is obviously frustrating. MIL and I don't have much in common which makes visits with them a bit awkward, too.

I tolerate them. I used to love them until we moved in with them, but so many issues while living with them means I doubt we'll ever be how we used to be. They are too judgemental and bossy. Mil was certainly worse then fil though

I love them! They aren't boundary pushers at all, which I appreciate, and they're very laid back, which is how my parents are as well, so it's a good fit. I don't have kids yet though, so maybe the dynamic will change (I hope not!)

They're nice in general, but they do some things that I find completely selfish. They always find a way to remind us that we don't live close to them. They only like to visit for 24 hours or less. When they are around they are nice, and I will take that over other things I've seen and heard.

You need a "I like them" option. I wouldn't ever say OMG I LOVE MY IN-LAWS, but they are nice, polite people that are generally very sweet and loving, but man do they annoy me sometimes.

I think they are fine. They are nice kind people, but we live literally a stones throw away & MIL is incredibly nosy & doesn't work...so I feel like she spies on us all day. Also she's kind of dense & repeatedly asks the same question over & over. But they are otherwise great so I'd say I have it alright.

I love my MIL and FIL and the vast majority of my in-laws. They love me and they always mean well, although it gets a little overbearing/overwhelming sometimes. I get annoyed by stuff they do sometimes, but its not any different then when I get annoyed with my parents about stuff. Basically, they're family.
