My DH and I have gotten into a really bad habit of jokingly saying really un-politically correct things. Neither of us mean what we are saying, but I really want to stop doing it because LO won't know the difference and I don't want her to think we really believe any of the stuff we say in that department.

Not un-PC, but I've been known to say some really mean things without thinking. I told the guy at Costco the other day that his face looked like an Amish pedophile and was freaking my atheist baby out. I was just joking, but I'm pretty sure random strangers on the street don't know that. Sigh, I think my husband would prefer I keep my mouth shut.

I think I don't, like...ever, buy my husband does. He has a running "joke" (and it IS a joke, because the majority of his friends here in the US are from this country) about hating this particular group of people (hint--it's a nearby country from where DH grew up) and he talks about it ALL. THE. TIME. when it's just us.
I think it would be incredibly offensive to other people if they heard it, so I'm afraid it will slip out one day. Picture a New Zealander being obsessed with hating Aussies.
Some of his favorite things to say are:
-the men have wierdly small feet and high voices
-they all smell
-they don't wear deoderant
-they're all rude and don't wait in lines
-they're pushy
-they're cheap
-they have weird accents and pronounce things wrong (this is coming froma guy who also has an accent, btw)
-they're obsessed with statusThis list goes on and on.....
The bad part is, I think it's rubbing off on me! Sometimes when someone does something rude, like cuts in front of us to get on the elevator in our building, as soon as they get off, we both looks at each other and say, "Damn ___________s".
It's bad.

Oh, my. All. The. Time. Unless the situation requires it, we're incredibly crass & inappropriate. It's only around certain people, however. But most of my friends are either just as much of a horrible person as me or, they're used to it. Heh.

DH does and it dries me bananas because I want him to quit before LO can comprehend! I know he does it just to goad me but still. I'm more of a stick in the mud I guess - I can be mean but usually not in the un-pc way I think you mean.

DH says alot of politically incorrect things to get a rise out of me. To me it's not funny at all. I ignore him or sometimes answer him back using nicer terminology.
Edit: One time he said the N word around my dad, and my dad gave him his two cents on why he shouldn't say such filth. DH later told me he did not appreciate getting lectured in his own home. Oh well don't say nasty words.

Dh is worse than me though, and I'll have to draw the line between inappropriate unless it's jut the two of us, and just really inappropriate.

We do it all the time too, but the sad thing is that sometimes, though we say it in a joking manner, we're probably not joking....we're bad!

Not really. We don't try to be "politically correct" but at the same time, we just don't think racist/sexist/etc. jokes are funny at all. It seems like that's what most of you guys are referring to?
We do sometimes make fun of people on TV, like for what they are wearing or if they aren't that cute, and we probably want to curb that when we have a LO. But I don't consider that "politically incorrect" - just unkind!

My husband will say sexist things to me as a joke, like "keeping me barefoot and pregnant" or asking when his dinner is going to be made but for the most part our jokes are very inappropriate but not un-PC.

Not as much in front of my daughter, because she doesn't know the difference. My sense of humor is really important to me - it was something that my father and shared. Now that he's gone, there's really no one left who genuinely gets it. My husband comes pretty close, though. So I try to keep it alive.

I don't as much, but DH does a lot. It's just part of his humor! We'd never say it in public circles though and I didn't think about our future baby, so I'll have to watch how that goes.

Yes! But it's not very often. And definitely not in front of the kids because you never know what they will pick up from you!

DH sometimes says pretty sexist things around me, which totally pisses me off. I think he just does it to get a rise out of me, but it totally drives me nuts. I have often tried to get him to think in the mindframe of someone who is an underrepresented minority. (As I am, due to my gender, at work.) He just doesn't get it though, b/c he's never walked in those shoes...
