We were in a large chain store today buying something for my DD. She has been potty trained for just over a month and told me she needed to go. I asked a sales clerk if we could use their toilets and she said they were absolutely not for customers and told me I should leave the store and go to the McDonald's next door. I emphasized that it was for my 2 yo daughter, but she was adamant that we could not.

I'm I being unreasonable to think that a store that sells children's clothing should allow access to restrooms for their pint-sized customers? On the one hand, I get that they don't want to turn into a public restroom, but on the other, couldn't they make reasonable exceptions for young children?
